Was quite shocked to see this. Will this be a test case? Mumsnet is such a tame well run site compared to the comments I see in the online press. Is the writing on the wall for free (cough) speech or is it a culling of trolling. Personally I think that something needs to be done, some folk have no filter or are just plain nasty.

Heavens. This heralds the death of the "comments" sections in newspapers and online forums.

As can be seen on MN, it seems anyone can trip up and cause offence, even if they really don't intend to. I have seen people taken to task for using an outdated term for SN, even if the new term is extremely recent and has not yet filtered down to the general population.

Of course it is unacceptable to threaten, or doxx (is that the term for revealing personal information?!) or abuse another poster or member of the public, but it seems that any heated (or even bland) discussion could cause someone to blow the whistle. There is a poster I've seen on here who shouts "racism" and "reported" about everything . It's tiresome because it derails interesting discussions on a topic that's not about that. The poster just seems to comb through threads picking on people.

Imagine how our country would work if MPs refused to answer questions in Parliament because they knew it wouldn't be the 'right' answer (ie. Someone would come back and counter argue their point).

Did you say something like 'a woman is someone who thinks they are a woman'? In which case, if Karen White says he is, then you have to accept it. Plus - that would be circular [mentioning the thing that is being defined in the definition itself] which as we know, isn't an actual definition.

Karen White is still a human, whatever crimes he committed. Scum or not, your belief is that TWAW, and if they say it, then you accept it. You are unwilling to say why. If you had to categorize this person into male or female, which category are you placing them? And on what grounds?
