What did you get for the money and were you happy with them?

OP posts:

11 years ago. £800. Photographer was there for the church and about an hour afterwards. I didn;t want photographs of getting ready, nor the party afterwards. We got a beautiful album and some individual portaits (4 I think) and were very happy with that. He met with us for an hour to understand our requirements, and on the day I had a list of combinations or shots I wanted and an usher briefed to round the people up for the shots. Worked very well. Looking around I saw photographers asking for thousands of £s.

Upthepong · 06/04/2019 05:59

He also had a website were guests could use a code to access our photos and order any they wanted for themselves (at their cost)

Gohenceforth · 06/04/2019 05:59

Our ‘togs were not cheap. Married in 2004 so can’t comment t on current pricing. We had a husband and wife team ;£1495 for both all day which included all photo on a DVD slideshow set to music and a 6x4 print in a presentation box.
In addition we had a 16’ x16’ inch album which included about 75 shots of varying sizes and 2 patents albums (1 for each set of parents) our album was around £750 and the parents albums were £275 each.

So long ago I forgot their fee also included a Pre wedding engagement shoot at the venue. Useful to know where to go for formal after ceremony and the ones of just H and I. Also they were with us from getting ready to after 1 st dance so among day for them. They presented our photos to us at their studio after we hit back from HM in that we watched the dvd of all the shots from the day background music. We could also login to their website and from here people could purchase additional images. They are a great team!

I got married 7 years ago and didn't have a wedding photographer. I've been to too many weddings where the bride and groom go off for hours to have a photo shoot in a field under a tree and the guests are left to stand around. Very off custom to me! But then I'm a miserable git.

We asked guests to share photos they took and it was great.

Nowthenforever2019 · 06/04/2019 06:08

Odd, not off

Tobebythesea · 06/04/2019 07:01

Wedding photography can be extortionate but I don’t regret paying more. £1800 for the day until the first dance, 4 years ago. Given a USB stick.

ellesbellesxxx · 06/04/2019 07:05

3-4 hours so from everyone arrived until dinner and £400
Didn’t feel we missed out by not having pics getting ready etc x

florence11 · 06/04/2019 07:13

£1200 three years ago. Got 500 edited photos in colour and black and white on a USB. Single photographer. She was amazing, photos from getting ready to first dance. The getting ready photos are my favourites.

Yogagirl123 · 06/04/2019 07:14

£250, 25 years ago

meepmoop · 06/04/2019 07:16

2 years ago I paid £950. He came at 8.30 and left about 9.30. We had around 500 photos on a usb

Emma090 · 06/04/2019 07:17

We paid £1600 summer 2018. This covered getting ready to first dance, photographer was wonderful - really good balance of reportage and group shots. Fine art style but also very flattering of everyone! USB came in gorgeous box with little book of selection of our wedding photos and 50 printed photos. We then also get a large coffee table style album book included with 100 linen pages with the photos printed directly on to each page, just haven’t got round to selecting what we want in it yet!

Emma090 · 06/04/2019 07:18

Forgot to mention we got 750 edited photos, some of these were B&W duplicates so probably approx 500 unique photos.

Lozzy25 · 06/04/2019 07:26

I'm getting married in 9 weeks and we are paying £2300 for our photographer! 🙄 to be fair we do get 2 photographers for 12 hours, a wedding photo book for us and 2 books for parents, a USB stick with all the photos and a few extra bits 😊

katienana · 06/04/2019 07:39

£600 in 2011 for the full day but this was mates rates. What we got was worth 3x that amount. We were featured on a blog so hopefully he got a bit of publicity thst made the discount worth it!

Lazypuppy · 06/04/2019 07:39

£1000 for pre wedding shoot, full day videographer, photographer frkm bridal prep ti 1st dance, photo album, minimum 450 photos, photobooth for 3hrs in evening

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/04/2019 07:48

£100 for the full day in 1999 as a favour. He was amazing, a friend of my sister's and a press photographer so all the photos are really natural and hardly any are posed which was unusual at the time but they haven't dated at all. I hate having my picture taken usually but these were great.

Theonewiththecat · 06/04/2019 07:55

£895 in 2016.
He started at about 11am outside church, snapping people as they walked into church, and he finished at 3ish just after speeches.
He uploaded 400 really good photos to the website (all password protected) within the week. Then I did my own album on vista print for £75.

RubyRoseViolet · 06/04/2019 08:03

We paid a photographer £600 for 4 hrs. He photographed a bit of the getting ready, the ceremony and a little bit of the meal. He was a nightmare to deal with but the photos (which came on a stick) were beautiful.

dolphinsanddoughnuts · 06/04/2019 08:03

£2k last year. Practice shoot, 1 photo became the signing frame. 12 hours getting ready to party. Our album , 2 parents albums, 1 print, USB stick, bit of a slideshow through evening.

RubyRoseViolet · 06/04/2019 08:03

That was 3 yrs ago.

RocketPockets · 06/04/2019 08:05
