Me and two friends and her 14 year old daughter are going to London on Sunday night to see a show.
My friend booked two twin rooms at £80 per room.
I thought great that's £40 each for me and my friend.
My other friend has turned around and said that's around £53.50 each.
I said it's only £40 each for me and my friend as the room is £80
She has said two rooms is £160 so that's £160 shared 3 ways.
Aibu to think this is a bit cheeky?

I love the term Crotch Goblins and refer to my kids as such to my DH when they have been infuriating twits.
When they're good they are classed as Womb Fruits.

BellatrixLeStrangest · 05/04/2019 14:04

Oh and to keep on topic, yes your friend is a CF and there'd be no chance I'd be paying her daughters share.

polkadotpixie · 05/04/2019 14:04

I love the term crotch goblin...I must try and fit it into conversation ASAP! 😂😂😂

Definite CF though, don't pay a penny more than the £40 you owe

Bornlazy · 05/04/2019 14:05

OP if the daughter wasn’t coming and you’d booked a family room who would have slept on the child bed? Could it be that your friend thought you would need two doubles anyway so thought her daughter might as well come along?

Mamaslave18 · 05/04/2019 14:05

Very CF of her!

It reminds me of the time my then boyfriend, myself and friend went on a trip together. Friend expected that we would split the cost of the 2 hotel rooms 3 ways. So me and BF paying extra for our room to compensate for her not having anybody to split the cost of her room with.

Rainbunny · 05/04/2019 14:05

Wow, your friend is being cheeky.

NoSquirrels · 05/04/2019 14:07

Ask her to spell out her reasoning. She's mad.

2 x hotel rooms, 4 x beds. 4 people need paying for and she's responsible for her DD's costs! Unless you begged for her teen DD to accompany you all?

If she moans, tell her you were happy to split the petrol 3 ways but now you're wondering if that should be 4 ways too Grin

Seriously, though - you have to make the point, because otherwise will all meals out or whatever also be split 3 ways, and you'll be subsidising the DD all weekend? I would be unhappy with that, as would most people.

IvanaPee · 05/04/2019 14:08

Are you going to respond to her? CF! They rely on people not wanting hassle to get away with this shite!

Delighted you’re standing your ground!

recrudescence · 05/04/2019 14:10

I probably would agree to go thirds in the situation mamaslave described - even if it was me who had the boyfriend. But the OP’s is different and I wouldn’t pay more than £40.

HaventGotAllDay · 05/04/2019 14:10

Definitely a CF unless it's a hotel chain where under 16s/15s are free. I just booked a Holiday Inn for me and dd who is 15 and she is free.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 05/04/2019 14:16

We caught our friend doing this with the discounted bill and we all fell out over it. She told us we were paying full price then used the discount to not pay for herself. She is very good at haggling but does upset people so they are not always polite with us afterwards.

It does seem to be a family thing but she assumes it's perks for doing the organisation and getting the best deals rather than her ripping us off.

IceIceCoffee · 05/04/2019 14:16

Crotch goblin is quite a common term on some social media sites.

Yanbu o.p she needs to pay for her child

billybagpuss · 05/04/2019 14:18

If the kids are on a put up bed sharing the parents room which they have paid full price for, then the kids get to not pay. If the kids are taking an adult space in a room then no you don't get to split their cost between everyone else CF

mum11970 · 05/04/2019 14:20

Watch out, she’ll be want to split the cost of the tickets 3 ways next. Tell her to jog on.

spritesandunicorns · 05/04/2019 14:23

What a CF. I stayed ina hotel room recently with a friend and my 6 year old and I insisted on paying her share.

werideatdawn · 05/04/2019 14:24

Crotch goblin is hilarious. Don't apologise to the pearl clutchers!

BadLad · 05/04/2019 14:25

Crotch goblin

Petsr4life · 05/04/2019 14:30

I also quite like semen demon

shitholiday2018 · 05/04/2019 14:30

Please please please come back and tell us what she said. I sometimes wonder where on earth these crazy entitled people come from - I want to give her a bloody shake myself!! If this ever happened to me, I would end that friendship. It tells you so much about why you just don’t want to be even fraternising with people so selfish, thoughtless and utterly cheeky.

woodhill · 05/04/2019 14:32

No £40 for you. £80 for her room with dd. Why should you sub her dd?

woodhill · 05/04/2019 14:36

Potter - that is funny, I know a few of those dc lol

MadameDD · 05/04/2019 14:36

No, no, no and no again. You are not subsidising her teenage daughter (unless both of you including other friend offered) - CFery here.

Escherichiacoli · 05/04/2019 14:36

Yeah that is a cheeky move on her part

EL8888 · 05/04/2019 14:37

It’s £40 a person, ages trying to pull a fast one

Crotch goblin 😂. I love it

EL8888 · 05/04/2019 14:38

Ages = she’s
