To visit the doctors? (TMI warning)

Let me take you through it and you decide if i should go to the doctors.

For what its worth we are trying for a baby and I am not due period till Sunday 14th April (i have period every 7ish weeks).

Sunday night my partner and I had sex, very rough but very good. Immediately after we finished i were sore inside and 2 hours later the pain increased so much i had to take pain killers.

Woke up Monday morning as usual, sore but nothing drastic. Took DD to school and started studying. Then shortly after my stomach started hurting so much I took 2 30/500mg Co-codamol and 1 250mg Naproxen tablet with a hot water bottle. Even so i was doubled over in pain. I started bleeding but only a small amount (I use a menstrual cup). I was topped up on pain medication all day.

Tuesday, I was in so much pain all day, doubled over even after pain killers. And a hot water bottle all day. Around 5:45pm I finally had some reprieve and got a call from work to go in for a couple hours. I agreed and went in. By the time i got there I was in agony again, my boss asked me 4 times if i was ok, then she sent me home less than 2 hours after I got there. I changed cup once in the morning and it only had a little in it. I changed it again at 2:50pm eith about 2tbsp full (just before picking up DD) and didn't change it again till this morning.

This morning there was about 1tbsp full. 17hours. Today I'm in agony again, taken pain killers and got a hot water bottle on as hot as I can stand it. Barely moved today.

This is not normal at all for me, i never have this much pain and the bleeding is very unusual for me. Usually day 1 and 2 get steadily heavier until day 3 where its very heavy then eases off day 4 and barely anything day 5.

If you've got this far please don't suggest A&E as no, Im not going up there.

AIBU to go to the doctors today? I feel like crap and in so much pain.

Same thing happened to me in December where gp sent me off to a&e for suspected ectopic (no bfp but severe cramps and period late) and I was sent away with a negative test and that my gp should refer me to gynae. Felt so embarrassed. Ended up getting my period the next day so have no idea what it was. Sorry not helpful. But I would push for a gynae referral from your GP as you shouldn't be in this pain.

SofaSurfer20 · 03/04/2019 22:26

@BoobiesToTheRescue 'me ovary tube' 😆 thank you, you made my night 😆

@SofaSurfer20 hope you get some sleep but if you’re still in pain in the morning PLEASE phone 111. This level of pain 4 days after sex is not nothing. Flowers

GummyGoddess · 03/04/2019 22:59

I hope you see someone else in the morning. That level of pain shouldn't be dismissed.

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 00:08

Anyone who has cysts over a certain size are told by gynae that if they ever have sudden onset acute abdom pain to go straight to A&E.

You’ve had this pain for 3 whole days, it’s not getting better.

If it’s the same tomorrow morning please just go to A&E.

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 00:09

And for my money ectopic pregnancy isn’t 100% ruled out.

anotherBadAvatar · 04/04/2019 05:29

I’ve seen this before when I worked in a&e. Ovarian torsion. Similar story as well. Good luck OP. Get seen x

Ruru8thestars · 04/04/2019 05:34

Hope the pain has eased

DanielRicciardosSmile · 04/04/2019 06:38

How are you this morning?

SofaSurfer20 · 04/04/2019 06:47

I wasnt ever told that @TatianaLarina and I was diagnosed 12/13 years ago.

Right now the pain seems to have eased but it was like this yesterday when i woke up. Then i got up and it started up worse again

OP posts:
BoobiesToTheRescue · 04/04/2019 07:33

I swear that sounds like ovarian torsion.

I had a constant sharp pain.

purplelass · 04/04/2019 09:30

Glad to hear the pain has eased today, hope it carries on that way Smile

IHateUncleJamie · 04/04/2019 09:51

If it starts up again, I can’t stress enough how important it is to phone 111.

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 10:03

I wasnt ever told that @TatianaLarina and I was diagnosed 12/13 years ago.

Depends on the size of your cysts. It’s the larger ones that can flop and twist the ovaries due to their weight.

PCOS, doesn’t necessarily cause large cysts, - generally it means you have a large number of follicles. See in diagrams left - the PCOS ovary has lots of small cysts. The non PCOS diagram just has one large cyst. As you said you’d had a rupture before I inferred you may have had larger ones too.

But I am not a doctor and you really need to go and see someone who knows what they’re talking about. It may be nothing to do with cysts - could be anything.

BloodsportForAll · 04/04/2019 10:22

💚💚💚

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 11:17

You still need to know what it as, please ask for a gynae referral + ultrasound.

SofaSurfer20 · 04/04/2019 15:28

Bleeding has returned as well as more pain.

Now the pain is on left side now. Ive called doctors and got an app for 2pm tomorrow x

OP posts:
StarlingsEverywhere · 04/04/2019 15:30

Don't let them fob you off this time, OP. It could be an ectopic.

IHateUncleJamie · 04/04/2019 15:39

@SofaSurfer sorry to shout but PHONE 111! It’s now been 4? days! Tomorrow at 2pm back at the same GP is no good - you need an urgent scan!
