Another vote for springers (sorry no picture). My two are wonderful, the perfect family dogs. I've got one asleep with his head on my lap at the moment, and the other is draped across my feet.

@HarrysOwl I find it hard to let go of foster Greyhounds but those that I did, were for example better off in a quieter, more rural home or as an only Greyhound. And I rehomed a couple to my mother, so still in touch

Irish terrier. I was in a cafe with this little lovely the other day when a toddler cane round the corner, spotted her and shouted “doggy!” He then ran up to her grabbed her by the ears and gave her a smacked of a kiss on the nose! She wagged her tail and licked him back.
She has met kids before but doesn’t live with a toddler, her reaction was so perfect I fell in love all over again.

I've had Pembroke Welsh Corgis for many years. Here is the current inhabitant.

@Grumpelstilskin yes, our greyhound (the heartbreaker) was much better off with her rural forever-home after we'd fostered her, it would have been selfish to keep her (small garden)- but it's so hard isn't it.

I LOVE that your DM re-homed a couple! That's brilliant, not technically Foster failure and total peace of mind! AND contact to boot!

Golden retrievers (especially my Bear)

Historically, staffies and EBTs are my favourites, but I recently picked up this gorgeous girl and I’m obsessed! She’s an Akita cross (although we have no idea what with).

@HarrysOwl My whole family is Greyhound mad. We once drove for almost 2 days to rescue a Spanish Greyhound from a Spanish killing station. For her most recent rescue greyhound, the animal rescue group did a home check and saw that her Greyhounds have their own sofas in the large living room, chaise-longues in her bedroom, as well as an enormous 6-acres garden with natural swimming pond that is securely fenced all the way around. They noted that the dogs receive lovingly home-cooked meals, including fresh vegetables from her own organic garden. When they arrived, one hound was relaxing on a blow-up airbed in the pool and the other was lounging in a hammock. One of the volunteers asked if my DM would consider adopting him too.

I’m so pleased to see other cavalier King Charles enthusiasts - we used to dog sit two which made me discover how much I like them as they are just so soft and cuddly and easy (the ones we looked after and now our own too Ours has so much character and really fun and unflappable.

It’s lovely to see so many breeds. I like all of them I expect though couldn’t own them all as don’t have enormous energy though DH will be great at long walks for ours when she’s keen.

I am also a fan of a staffie i know and Westies and whippets!

I've never had a dog but I'd be torn between a miniature schnauzer or long haired chihuahua.
