OK, it's doubtful Brexit is going to happen any time soon but definitely worth coming along and standing up for what we voted for.

Very little coverage in the media - unfortunately no full page spreads in the Standard for us....

It will be going on until early evening so still worth turning up if you can't get the day off work. Lots of great speakers including Julia Hartley Brewer, Claire Fox, Kate Hoey et al.

No thanks!

TeddyIsaHe · 29/03/2019 07:50

And people wonder why they think leavers are thick! The M25 “ring of steel” 😂

I wouldn’t go to this protest if my life depended on it. If there’s a sure fire way of violence occurring, it’s getting leave voters together on a Friday night the day we were meant to be leaving the EU.

givemesteel · 29/03/2019 07:51

Yes honey from an independent fact checking charity:

Lockheart · 29/03/2019 07:54

@givemesteel "less able to stand in the cold"??

It's going to be 15 degrees in London today, it's not arctic Siberia.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 29/03/2019 08:03

Thanks, givemesteel

YouTheCat · 29/03/2019 08:04

Let's just say there were half a million, as a conservative estimate, at the march last week. There were no arrests and there was no violence.

Let's wait and see how many turn up to this march and what the police presence is like before we compare.

I think it will be very revealing.

LonelyTiredandLow · 29/03/2019 08:05

Best people to ask about numbers as they had to be on the ground are the police who previously estimated between 1.5-2mil but had to retract it as it was seen as political. FOI request will be interesting but will obviously come too late to be of much use other than to put it into the History books.

Anyone who was there or who saw the helicopter footage can see it was way more than 400k.

Leavers are so wilfully ignorant!

Alsohuman · 29/03/2019 08:05

Not bloody likely.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 29/03/2019 08:07

'less able to stand around in the cold' lolololololol

Fuck me I've heard all the excuses now.

Looking forward to our glorious brave new Brexit Britain then, led by people who are apparently too old and too infirm to go outside in spring weather, and can't use the internet Grin Grin Grin

BelleSausage · 29/03/2019 08:10

Haha haha haha

Sorry, sorry.

What is it that you’re marching for again?

Thanks for fucking up the country for years to come. It wasn’t worth it. Let’s see how you feel when it all turns to ash in your mouth. Just a shame you had to drag us all down with you.

Windowsareforcheaters · 29/03/2019 08:10

As with any such demonstration, let us hope idiots do not ruin it

Are you calling leaver voters idiots? You can't do that it's rude. And they aren't all idiots.

iano · 29/03/2019 08:12

@givemesteel what's the source for your numbers please?

looking at the pictures of the protest last week it's pretty obvious that there were more than 400,000 people there.

Thanks for asking OP. I'll be giving it a miss.

I hope you are safe tonight and it ends up being a peaceful demonstration.

HazardGhost · 29/03/2019 08:12

Why OP whhhhy?

Current estimate is that 55% of people now want remain, the pool of moderate leavers is now shrinking which means the far right element of leave has increased further.

I was in one of the areas that had riots in 2011. The only minor positive was that so many ppl were identified thanks to cctv that we had unpaid work litter-picking everywhere for 2+ yrs after.

But seriously it was out of control, people died www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-14471405 .

It was devastating across the county.

iano · 29/03/2019 08:15

@givemesteel sorry- bad reception I see you have already answered.
I think they shouldhavegonetospecsavers Grin

NoSixPlease · 29/03/2019 08:16

I thank you for your very kind invite, but on this occasion I shall have to decline. I have a much more enjoyable day planned. It includes a rectal examination followed by wiping my arse with stinging nettles.

BelleSausage · 29/03/2019 08:16

The U.K. is already majority Remain and will only get more Remain as time goes on and the shit hits the fan.

But hard line Brexiteers don’t care because they are ideologically driven. They could not give a shit about the lives they will ruin (that if the EU citizens in the U.K. and the U.K. citizens in Europe). They have (wrongly) categorised Remain voters as elites and want to give everyone a kicking. And don’t especially care what damage is done to the economy in the process.

Laughable really with a bunch of billionaire, tax dodging bankers as their leaders.

TaMereAPoilDevantPrisu · 29/03/2019 08:17

It'll be small because Leavers can't get there from outside London? Fucksake, make a bit of an effort. I know dozens of people who travelled hundreds of miles from mainland Europe for the Remain march.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/03/2019 08:18

I hope its a peaceful demonstration

And obviously unless 17.4 people rock up they have all changed their mind and want to remain

(I don't actually believe that but ive heard it a lot recently...but the other way around)

TheWomanin12B · 29/03/2019 08:18

That ring of steel protest should be well underway by now. Wonder how it is going?

TaMereAPoilDevantPrisu · 29/03/2019 08:19

arf @ NoSixPlease

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/03/2019 08:21

t'll be small because Leavers can't get there from outside London

My dad said its too far and too much money

He is minted and we leave an hour and a half away by train

He will go on a march if there is a local one....if someone could arrange one that would be awesome as i think he would really enjoy it. He does have a sore knee so it will be slow

And i think people would enjoy meeting him on a march. He is really lovely

IvanaPee · 29/03/2019 08:21

Why the Remain voters see themselves as superior is still a mystery to me.

From outside of this (thank fuck) I see very clear differences of intellect, class, dignity, and common sense between Leavers and Remainers.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t be attending a march today if I was in London.

It’s the only one too, that I won’t be surprised to see violence and loutish behaviour at.

LuckyMarmiteLover · 29/03/2019 08:23

FFS no way Tegan

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 29/03/2019 08:25

That ring of steel protest should be well underway by now. Wonder how it is going?

Hmmm. Funnily enough I've not heard anything. Must be that Remainer media blocking the Brave Brexiteers from having their voices heard again, eh?

Pk37 · 29/03/2019 08:27

Get bent!
