To feel desperately sorry for Theresa May

On a human level I just feel so sorry for her - she looks like she's aged so much and is apparently becoming quite unwell because of the immense stress she's under. To be continually ripped to shreds by the despicable ERG and so many others in the House of Commons is just awful - I don't know how she does it. A few times I've seen her looking like she's on the verge of tears. I wonder if she goes home every night and just sobs - I know I would.

It's sad as I think she would have made a decent PM if Brexit didn't exist.

I doubt whether she will make much money on the after dinner circuit - she is an appallingly bad public speaker.

As for her Brexit means Brexit and I intend to make a success of it. Note that it's all me, me, me. Not I want to help the country make a success of it!

She will however retire in comfort with Philips millions to console her.

happyhillock · 28/03/2019 14:11

Do people REALLY feel sorry for her don't understand it, politician's are meant to make thing's better for the country and it's people, we're not all supposed to be rich but we're all entitled to a decent wage and a decent standard of living, people are being made homeless because they can't pay there rent, school's, hospital's and essential services have no money, food bank's, we're the 5th richest country in the world, people are starving and homeless yet we give £millions in forgien aid, if we have no money how can they give it away, it's a bloody disgrace, sorry for a politician never in a million years!!

ALannisterInDebt · 28/03/2019 14:12

She looks worn out and has really aged, I do feel sorry for her, it must be the worst job in the world right now and she's stuck with it.

Topseyt · 28/03/2019 14:13

She said "We are the Nasty Party" in one of her Party Conference speeches (I think it was). She was Home Secretary then. She seemed to relish the comment.

Hazeintheclouds · 28/03/2019 14:19

Prime Ministers should have charisma in order to be remembered. She has none at all. Cameron had it, as did Blair.

As for the lecture circuit, who the hell is going to pay for the dubious pleasure of hearing her speak.

Hazeintheclouds · 28/03/2019 14:19

?

orangesquashh · 28/03/2019 14:20

That's not true Topseyt - this is what she said:

"Yes, we've made progress, but let's not kid ourselves. There's a way to go before we can return to government. There's a lot we need to do in this party of ours. Our base is too narrow and so, occasionally, are our sympathies, You know what some people call us: the nasty party," Mrs May told a stunned conference.

That blue coat is dreadful. Just sayin

Very rude, misogynistic comment.

NewYear2018 · 28/03/2019 14:27

'There's a lot we need to do in this party of ours. Our base is too narrow and so, occasionally, are our sympathies. You know what some people call us -- the Nasty Party.' Theresa May told a stunned Tory party meeting back in Oct 2002. It's been downhill all the way since.

I have not an iota of sympathy for her. She brought it on herself entirely. In so doing, she has betrayed a generation of young people, the citizens of Ireland, endangered the United Kingdom and brought us to our knees.

She is a bully, a racist and liar.

NewYear2018 · 28/03/2019 14:27

Oh and I forgot to say the opposition parties are fucking pathetic too!

Goldmandra · 28/03/2019 14:29

She accepted the poisoned chalice because she knew full well that it was her only chance of ever being PM.

She has willingly led cuts that have devastated the lives of thousands of vulnerable people.

She will walk away with job offers galore and be rolling in money and influence for the rest of her life.

No. I don't feel sorry for her.

Hazeintheclouds · 28/03/2019 14:30

No man would wear such a deeply unattractive coat.

Better?Hmm

NewYear2018 · 28/03/2019 14:32

@ Hazel That blue coat is dreadful. Just sayin

What is it about that blue coat? She's been wearing it for the last three weeks.

TheClitterati · 28/03/2019 14:33

Brexit is a shit storm. She's not the problem.

I agree with this ** though I'm not a Tory fan.

Now the chaps are all jockeying to replace her / , I think we will see the real shit hitting the fan once she is gone.

EstrellaDamn · 28/03/2019 14:58

Of course Brexit is a shit storm. But she's also absolutely 100% the problem. She has made mistake after mistake after mistake. In fact, I'm genuinely struggling to think of one point I could concede, where I could say 'well, she may have made a cunt of things, but at least she did X'.

And no, simply turning up to work, in a job you're shite at and don't need to do financially, doesn't count.

orangesquashh · 28/03/2019 14:59

"Now the chaps are all jockeying to replace her / , I think we will see the real shit hitting the fan once she is gone."

I agree - the thought of Gove, Johnson or Leadsom at the helm makes me shudder.

Tomtontom · 28/03/2019 15:05

She's incapable of negotiating, be it with the EU or within her own party or building links across parliament.

Brexit is the problem, but she's played a major role in what a shitstorm it has become.

AutumnCrow · 28/03/2019 15:09

The blue coat is her very expensive comfort blanket.

orangesquashh · 28/03/2019 15:11

"The blue coat is her very expensive comfort blanket."

Is it expensive? She might have got it from Matalan for all we know!

orangesquashh · 28/03/2019 15:17

Boris now saying that Theresa's deal is dead and she should stand down now apparently. What a piece of work Angry

justmyview · 28/03/2019 15:19

I really think that if I was her, then by now I would have stood up in the House of Commons, shouted 'fine then, do you know what, FUCK YOU ALL' and stormed out!

Me too

EstrellaDamn · 28/03/2019 15:20

Good old Boris. The raving narcissistic racist lying shitbag.

orangesquashh · 28/03/2019 15:24

I think when Theresa goes, I'd probably like to see Savid Javid as the next PM. What does everybody think? I admit I don't know a great deal about him but from what I've seen, he seems like he'd be far preferable to Boris/Gove.

Calamapo · 28/03/2019 15:24

Boris Johnson desperately trying to u turn out of his u turn. Fuck that guy.
