To be fair, I vote mainly for what I think will be good for my family, but the referendum changed people's lives forever. You are meant to look past dogshit. Even my mother asked me what I thought would be best for my children before she voted. Funnily enough, I happen to work and am covered by EU employment legislation, sometimes work in community centres funded by EU grants, have worked and studied in Europe without the need for work permits and thought I'd quite like my children to have that chance. Shame people who wanted fewer immigrants have put the kibosh on all of that, without realising that most immigration comes from outside the EU.

slipperywhensparticus · 26/03/2019 07:02

As much as I wanted to vote leave I voted remain our government proves daily why we need the European parliament to intervene on matters we are like babies taking over the nursery someone put those kids in time out ffs

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/03/2019 07:03

brizzlemint
Nigel farage could live in a brewery and still fail to organise a piss up.

If you believe this then you are deluded, I don't like the man but look at his political history instead of one march and see what you think.

He also wouldn't be a the forefront of a civil war because he can make more money re-igniting whatever ukip alike party he wants and raking in the money form the dis-satisfied.

Acis · 26/03/2019 07:03

I know there will be responses about the good of the country but does that ‘trump’ a democratic vote? That’s one of the things I have been wrestling with

It wasn't a democratic vote, due to the proven fraud and breaches of electoral law on the Leave side. The government's lawyers have admitted that, if it had been an election, the result would have had to be set aside. The only reason it hasn't been is that this was a purely advisory vote.

tenredthings · 26/03/2019 07:04

They are indicative votes , not binding. May can choose to ignore them. She's incapable of flexible thinking and she's said she won't allow anything that's not in the Tory manifesto. It's all theatre before we descend into the mayhem of nodeal exit.

What like never turning up to vote in the European Pasrliament even though thats his fucking job

His lack of ability to get a single constituency in the UK, Carswell doesnt count because his constituency voted Tory

That Nigel Faridge?

BambooBoobam · 26/03/2019 07:11

I hope it is the end and that we revoke.

If mps don’t support May’s deal, and don’t support no deal, then we’re left with revocation. I hope they can all agree on that.

FlagranceDirect · 26/03/2019 07:12

You mark my words. Brexit being cancelled will result in a fucking shit storm that will make remainers shake in their boots

More comical than dramatic.

YemenRoadYemen · 26/03/2019 07:15

If it is cancelled I will never vote again.

Leavers refusing to vote ever again. Said like it's a bad thing.

BoneyBackJefferson · 26/03/2019 07:15

JustAnotherPoster00

That Nigel Faridge?

The one that brought UKIP out of the depths and managed to get them to a stage where they brought in more votes than the SNP.

That Nigel Farage

growingenough · 26/03/2019 07:18

@americandream You mark my words. Brexit being cancelled will result in a fucking shit storm that will make remainers shake in their boots.

This is hilarious 🤣

YouBumder · 26/03/2019 07:21

Everyone who has said that Brexit would have an adverse effect on our worker’s rights is absolutely correct.
The reason that the UK has such stringent Employment legislation is because of our membership of the EU.

Working tiime, sex discrimination,, pregnancy related discrimination rights etc would be gradually eroded.
So all those people who believe that Brexit will not affect them are being extremely naive.
My qualification- Employment lawyer with over twenty years of experience.

Totally agree. Also TUPE, working time etc.

As for the U.K. Tory government protecting worker’s rights, don’t make me laugh. The U.K. had no equal pay legislation until the needed to get it in place to join the EEC and even then it was crap. And this would be the same U.K. government that created an arrangement of ET fees that was overruled by the Supreme Court as unlawful and denying access to justice. Yes we can really trust them to protect us.

Ronsters · 26/03/2019 07:22

I don't think it would cause riots if Brexit got cancelled, it would be interesting to see the political fall out though. And to see who would be affected most from any potential voter backlash/disengagement, Labour or Tory party.

I also think it's possible that MPs will not agree anything/any opton in these indicative votes. My money is on WA with permanant customs union. I think revoke will get nowhere.

PlumCakeChica · 26/03/2019 07:25

I really hope this is the end and we can get back to talking about poverty, climate change and the like.

What a monumental waste of money Brexit has been.

ClariceCliffe · 26/03/2019 07:25

1 million people marching

Please check out FullFacts for a more accurate figure.
Clue - it's nowhere near one million.

countrygirl99 · 26/03/2019 07:27

I want to live where Peanut does if the big local issue is dog poo and not roads/ air quality/ education/ rubbish collection/ services for the elderly or disabled/ facilities like sports grounds etc. Must be nirvana.

bellinisurge · 26/03/2019 07:29

It wasn't a million. It was 39. And they were all middle class German tourists 😂

Chillichutney1 · 26/03/2019 07:29

Wow the leavers will stop voting if Brexit is cancelled? Good things to come to those who wait! Maybe we can sort this mess out after all, if self serving leave voters like @Peanut1983 stop voting with their uninformed views

ClariceCliffe · 26/03/2019 07:30

bellinisurge · 26/03/2019 07:31

Happy for people to keep voting how they like. But I don't remember massive voting turnout before this X Factor style vote.

WrongKindOfFace · 26/03/2019 07:32

Who will the civil war be against? From what I keep seeing it’s leavers threatening to storm parliament and hang or shoot MPs. Guy Fawkes is frequently invoked. (People miss that he was unsuccessful.)

bellinisurge · 26/03/2019 07:34

Not especially afraid of a few grumpy blokes and an unwilling dog. Remind me how the Leaver March is going again? Maybe they should have made it free.

Peanut1983 · 26/03/2019 07:35

No chilli, you are mistaken. I'll still carry on voting. Sorry, do you think you have more of a right to vote than me? Riiiiight. Do old people have less of a right to a say too? There's an awful lot of glad the old voters will be dead comments. How lovely.

londonrach · 26/03/2019 07:35

Its only on mn people want to remain. I voted to remain but now 10000000% vote to leave. Everyone i speech to apart from dh wants to leave. I think if they had another vote you be shocked how much the leave vote has increased. I dont agree with may shes seriously mucked it up. Leave would really help countries outside the eu encluding africa who cant compete with the heavy tariffs eu has put on their goods. Thats one of the reasons i vote leave now but ive 100 other reasons. Eu has could of this very badly looking like a bully who money grapping. Going to hid this now as going to get 1000 mn saying all sort of nasty things about me because i care about my dd future and along with alot of people think we better out of nasty bulling eu able to trade and work with the whole world as this is isnt the 19th century.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 26/03/2019 07:38

It's FullFacts who didn't get their facts right.

It was well over a million.
