I know this isn't the right place but l didn't get any answers within streamed TV, so apologies.

Currently in process of cancelling Sky in the hope they will reduce the subscription.

However DS1 and 2 have said they want Netflix. They have it at their Dad's already. DS2 has it on his phone via their membership.

I'm trying to figure out how it will all "work" and l need help preferably with pictures as I'm not technically minded.

If l get rid of sky... how will l watch TV? Will l need to get a freeview box (is that the correct terminology??).

My TV downstairs is a Smart TV so l know l can get Netflix on that but the one in my bedroom isn't. So does that mean l won't be able to watch Netflix upstairs?

I have also heard of Now TV and I'm wondering if that is better than Netflix?

If you took out a now tv subscription and get a smart box with it you can watch tv upstairs via that and use their app on your smart tv. You won't get freeview via the box but you will get all the main station catch up channels like bbc iplayer etc. so that might be a good compromise for you?

Nowtv usually do good new customer deals and will be much cheaper than sky. Everything is pretty much available on catch up these days, so easy enough not to have sky for recording programmes.

Sorry, that should say you won't get freeview on now tv box without an aerial. You can watch Netflix too.

So.... aerials are plugged in and working. Currently watching Bbc1 news which is my usual weekend morning watch.

I am a bit confused though.

I have the following channels...

Bbc1, 2, itv, c4, c5, itv2, bbc4, itv3, c4+1, more4, film4, itv4, E4, itv+1, film4+1, cbbc, cbeebies, bbcnews, parliament, bbcRB1,

I was just expecting channels 1-5, so are these what are now available just through the aerial?

If your tv has built in Freeview, then yes you will get more channels

Most recent tv's have this
