Do anyone else's feet/joints hurt when on their period?

I'm 47 and still as regular as clockwork...sometimes, my period is not much bother but other times it causes me to have foot pain! And my knees and ankles also hurt.

SO debilitating. I hate it! Anyone else?

My knees hurt on my period. Not sure why.

Get your hormones tested, could be a sign of dropping oestrogen affecting your bones. Ask GP for bone profile and oestrogen, LH and FSH bloods to be taken.

Very strongly linked to autoimmune disorders too, rheumatoid arthritis etc.

I get achy thighs with mine.

My feet and ankles swell every time, my hips and lower back always hurt and I just seem to swell all over! I usually know its coming as I crave chocolate badly and then comes the horrific pain 🙄

Yes!! I feel like I'm getting the flu every month. My knees, elbows, wrists and ankles really ache and I go so tired I can hardly stay awake. Was going to ask on here but might ask doctors to investigate...

I get it in my knees every month.
But I also get it with a hangover, so I connect it to bloating/ fluid retention, that type of thing. Don't know if there's any validity to that

Yes but I have a connective tissue disorder and whichever hormone it is which hangs around before and during period makes all my ligaments be even more fucking useless than normal. I sound like one of those football clacker things that walking

Yes I get v sore hips. That’s how I know my period is coming actually.

Had v bad pgp in pregnancy, so assume it’s all related.

Oh it seems other suffer! I did get investigated for lupus a few years back Domton and my sister has arthiritis. Better go and get looked at I suppose.

Yes to the ankle pain never heard of anyone else having it!

Ooh my right hip particularly always gives me gip, sometimes the left as well, but the right one is worst. It’s like this really deep ache that nothing seems to shift.

My knees are agony when I have my period and I'm not even 40.

My knees have always hurt when I'm on. Horrible sharp shooting pain that doesn't stop for first couple of days. Seems s lot better since I had my daughter weirdly. Hormones are funny little bastards.

Yes!! I am sore from my head to my toes!

Yes I feel very achey all over a few days before my period. Mornings are the worst as I wake up feeling as if I've been beaten up. Some months I also forget things and constantly get my words muddled up. It's awful and embarrassing. I do have PCOS though (with regular periods though) so not sure if that plays a factor.

Not when I’m actually having my period but when I ovulate I hurt all over especially my feet, ankles, shoulders and thumbs. I’ve been tested for RA and various other autoimmune things but all are negative (thankfully). My GP had wondered if I have fibromyalgia but if I do it’s super mild - if there is such a thing as mild fibro. That said, in the week before I come on I feel exhausted and flu-ey - as if I’m fighting a virus or something. As soon as my period’s over I feel great again. For about 10 days.

It loosens your joints up, I don't have a connective tissue disorder normally, but my joints do pop out a bit during that time of the month. Not enough to actually dislocate, but enough to make me jump and swear a bit.

I also get severe javelin arse.

I have arthritis and it was always much worse before a period.
Rheumatologist said this was normal.
So I would advice seeking your gp . It may be nothing other than hormones, but worth getting checked out.

I get period pain in my left knee.

Have always had achey knees when I had periods (don’t really have them as have a Mirena) and I don’t have RA.

Get it when I have the flu too I think it’s somthing to do interferon.
