AIBU?

I saw this today on Facebook.

One of the self styled paedophile hunters who track down potential groomers online has listed his job description as paedophile hunter when registering his new babies birth. He posted a photo of that section on the BC to show that he'd done it.

AIBU to say this is bloody ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed?

Yeah well, if the police actually did their job and investigated grooming online instead of acting as Susie Green’s flying monkeys maybe they wouldn’t need to do this.

I suspect they’ve very much reduced the number of men doing this.

The other thread references suicide but a number of children including Kayleigh Haywood and Ashleigh Hall have been murdered by these groomers so it’s not like these would be victimless crimes if the hunters disappeared tomorrow and left them to their own devices.

Although I think the guy should have a proper day job, given the amount of grooming happening in my neighbourhood, I can't blame fathers when they get together and decide to try to do something. The police have been shown to be overwhelmed + incompetent + (in the case of ethnic politics) unwilling to deal with child abuse. As long as these "hunters" are smart & civilised about how they gather evidence etc I can't blame them.

Absolutely horrible. What's the matter with the man? I saw a programme not that long ago about someone who was a 'paedophile hunter', naming and shaming, etc, with several others but he was the organiser. He turned out to be a paedophile.

Sick.

The police exist to enforce law, sometimes it doesn't work or takes time, we all know that, but I would rather properly trained professionals were looking out for the interests of our children than a team of vigilantes.
