Hello all, I’ve been trying to lose weight and I was talking to my friends who are about size 12-14 and they weigh between 10 stone and 12 stone and they were shocked when I told them I was over 16 stone. I am 5”6 and wear 36C/38C bra and size 16 in top and bottoms. Is this normal and is there anyone else like this?

I am surprised. I am just under 12 stones, 5' 8" and size 16/18

@thecatneuterer

I did mean that I didn't think my waist would be that small again.

It might just be how I feel at the moment - I'm 17st and my waist is 36". I've lost 4st, and I think my waist was 41" at its largest Blush.

It just doesn't feel like the next 3st will take a whole 8" off my waist to take me down to the 28" I was when I was last 14st?

I didn't do anything in the way of core strength as a teen, and have done a lot recently. In fact it feels like since I've got both extra muscle there and haven't lost fat from that location that it's static, though I'm losing overall.

But then I do have a really big frame. I'm starting to look very shapely again even at this weight because I'm 5'9" with wide shoulders and hips, with big boobs. When I was much smaller people were surprised by my weight and clothes size because all they saw was a woman who wasn't carrying much fat at all - my limbs were long, toned and a little muscly. It's part of why I allowed my weight to creep up so far in the first place - because last time I was at this weight, I could still go 'looking good' in the mirror!

5'6" 11 stone 10lb, bra 36F, size 16

5'6, 9.5 st, size 12 here. (size 14 in H&M because they're ridiculous)

Must also depend on how you like your clothes, and your proportions etc. I have long arms and legs so can't go down a size because I'd have ankles/wrists showing at all times (and "long" sizes are too long as I'm not actually super tall!)
