Strange occurrence in supermarket

First time posting here so please be gentle with me.
Last week I was in my local supermarket,I lean on my trolley as I am disabled,anyway minding my own business when I feel prodding on my backside thinking someone had knocked me I ignored it and it carried on I turn round to see a elderly lady and her friend poking me with her umbrella,when I looked she said “sorry couldn’t ignore the target”🤔.i said nothing but have thought to myself afterwards if she had been male or younger I would have given her a right mouthful,but instead was just speechless.
No she wasn’t ‘confused or had dementia just thought it was funny.
So would I have been unreasonable if I’d told her where to go

I’ve felt the urge when I see people doing that on their trolleys, but only because I find it annoying. Then again I find most people annoying when I’m shopping. Think it’s my anxiety / being in crowded spaces.

What I would have done is cried out in pain and called for help then explain the lady assaulted you, they would also have proof on CCTV. Get staff to call the police the whole shebang because I'd love to see her explanation! "I wasn't assaulting her I was just poking her with my stick for fun" she would be done for both assault and discrimination as you're disabled.

Fuck me I don't know where you live, but here (Met Police) they don't even come out if your house has been burgled.

The only person 'done' there would be you, for wasting police time with an Oscar winning performance.

My mother would mention it to people if she thought they were overweight, in case they weren't aware I suppose. As she got older she did it more. It was awful. Once she had some cakes and told my son's girlfriend she couldn't have any because they were not for "fatties". Anyone a few pounds over weight was a fatty to her. I can imagine her poking someone with something if she saw their bum and it was not stick thin.

At a funeral she said very loudly, "Look at Sid! Look how fat he is now". He was not fat either - just not stick thin. Everyone heard including Sid (not his real name).

People avoided her because of it.

This reminded me of an occasion many years ago, when my mother and her friend were coming to visit me. Scrambling onto the train with their luggage, my mother inadvertently poked an old lady up the bottom with her umbrella, and apologised profusely.

The old lady immediately put her at her ease by turning to her and saying, “Don’t worry duck, I thought my luck had changed”. It still makes me smile, and was a line I used myself years later in a similar situation.

Jeez some of you lot are so serious. Assault? Cctv proof? Call the police? The two old girls were having a bit of a laugh, wouldn't bother me in the slightest 😂

I'm sure it's not the response you're hoping for OP, but this thread is absolutely hilars! I've been crying with laughter reading some of the responses. I must admit, I don't think I'd have been particularly offended (although I'm not disabled). It sounds like the old ladies were just having fun and didn't mean any harm.

Swap it for two teenagers. Change nothing else but the age.

How would you respond?

Don't let it worry/upset you OP. There are 2 explainations. 1 She was a rude/ spiteful person who will hopfully meet a similar person and get a taste of her own medicine. 2 She maybe recieving medical treatment that could be making her disinhibited.
