To be feeling really sorry for myself.

I start a new job on Monday and I’m meeting up with some old friends next week too, so having had a tough time with anxiety and depression recently, I thought I’d colour my hair for my fresh new start.

It was dyed a reddish brown before with about an inch of natural roots, I decided a nice rich dark brown like I used to have would be perfect Instead it’s come out pure black.Sad

I’m so upset and angry at myself. After feeling so down on myself for so long, I was just starting to feeling positive. Now with one look in the mirror I’m back to square one.

Now not only am I fat and useless, I’ve got stupid, shit hair too.

I can’t stop crying.

Tell me to get a grip please.

UPDATE...

So thanks to you lovely lot I tried the vitamin c/head n shoulders trick and look, it only bloody worked!!

I’d had enough of my hair looking awful so thought anything was worth a try, I really wasn’t expecting it to work.

And... my new job is lovely! A great bunch to work with and a really chilled and nice work environment. Yay!

So thanks so, so, so much you cunting bunch of vipers Wink

Was going to say head and shoulders, if you leave it on like a hair mask, really works and you can literally see the colour run out as you wash it. Some modern box dyes are so dark, if I want a medium brown, I stick to shades around a 5. Garnier Belle colour and John Frieda tend to be quite natural looking. Your hair looks nice now anyway.

Aww OP. You look lovely.

This happened to me before, fairy liquid and conditioner sorted it.

Nice update OP. Your hair looks lovely 😊

ColourB4 has saved me from many hair dye disasters. It will strip the brown off, and leave it a low level orange (as brown hair dyes still contain bleach). You can then use a temporary colour over it, or wait 48 hours and dye it again with a lighter brown.

Sorry you're having a rubbish time of it.

Happy birthday! I never knew about head and shoulders, I've been wondering why my hair fades so quickly! X

Another one for head and shoulders. Took about 2 days and about 6 washes? Lather it in thickly and leave then rinse. Don’t condition until the final wash.

It's really shiny! You're right. Looks natural. Hope the new job is a good move for you.
