I can feel the mood among Remainers, both IRL and online changing.

Can anyone tell me the direct effects they think it’s going to have on their children’s futures?

Well, they won't have the right to live and work in the EU as easily as they do now. That alone is a pretty bloody big thing. They may get slower or reduced access to life saving medicines. That's pretty bloody big

Colourpencils · 12/03/2019 20:29

imustbemad you barely think about it?? The most important issue to affect out country since WWII and you barely think about it?! Please don't tell me you voted leave, you voted leave didn't you?

This is exactly the sort of thing I could get angry about, people chucking a grenade over their shoulder And then nonchalantly strolling off whistling - mmm who could that possibly be ...

bellinisurge · 12/03/2019 20:30

I'm not angry. I think we are closer to a second referendum or even Revoke.

Chickoletta · 12/03/2019 20:31

To the PP who asked why we're angry...
For me, personally it's because our farm, which has been in the family for generations is likely to go bust - the only thing keeping it afloat is EU subsidy which the government can't, or won't agree to match.
It's also the thought of UK supermarkets being full of US meat which is farmed to welfare standards which I just can't live with.
I'm angry with all those people who are ignoring financial predictions from top economists who are telling us that we're fucjed if we go through with this.
In Cornwall, we received millions in funding from the EU which will simply dissolve. I am angry with those people around me who were clearly the turkeys who voted for Christmas.

Tiscold · 12/03/2019 20:31

I'm not personally angry at individual leavers, as I'm hopeful many voted for what they thought was the right thing to dk and not because of racism.

Im angry at the tories for wrecking deprived areas, scapegoating immigrants, scapegoating the eu, cutting services in areas that need it most that overwhelmingly voted leave usually.

Im angry at the leave campaign for the lies and the crimes they commited. And the way the leaders have no solution to this mess.

I'm angry at the remain campaign for bot doing enough, for just using shit tactics and trying to scare people into staying rather than showing them the benefits.

And I'm angry at every single mp who has sat back and let this mess happen. Every single one of them needs a thorough investigation into their conduct and whether it was negligent

Colourpencils · 12/03/2019 20:32

Bellini praying for revoke. I'm unsure about a PV now, worried that if No Deal were on it people who think that just means we stay as we are, would tick that box.

Tonsilss · 12/03/2019 20:32

It's looking like a no deal. It's wrecked my business already. Thanks Leave voters. And I'm encouraging my DD to leave the country. Our bright young people will leave the sinking ship.

S1naidSucks · 12/03/2019 20:33

Can anyone tell me the direct effects they think it’s going to have on their children’s futures?

They might die in a bomb or get shot because they walk on the ‘wrong side of the road’. Yes, people actually got murdered for that. The Shankle Butchers lifted a young man and murdered him because he walked on the ‘catholic’ side near a well known roundabout. This is the reality of what people in NI are facing because of this shit show.

EssentialHummus · 12/03/2019 20:33

I've been mentally shouting "I told you so" at the TV for nigh-on three years now. I don't think I'm angry exactly - combination of moral high ground, exasperation, fear, disbelief.

AnyOldPrion · 12/03/2019 20:34

Living outside the UK and having to make changes such as trading in our UK drivers licences so we don’t risk finding ourselves having to sit another test. Wondering whether we’re going to have to go through all the visa applications again, even though we’ve had permanent residency for five years. Sick of not knowing frankly. Still rolling our eyes that the leave side campaigned for something without any kind of plan.

Slightly less shocked than the day after the result. Sickened that so much money has been wasted.

Colourpencils · 12/03/2019 20:34

Tonsills hoping No Deal will be voted off the table tomorrow. Awful about your business Sad

TheWomanin12B · 12/03/2019 20:36

We are basically sleepwalking into disaster as a country because people can't be bothered to think about it. Voted and didn't ever pay attention again.

There are so many ways your child's life will and could be affected. It's pretty irresponsible as a parent not to know them.

saltymofo · 12/03/2019 20:36

Well we keep being threatened with civil unrest by Leavers if they don't get their way so why shouldn't the Remainers also be angry? Utter shit show.

TalkinPaece · 12/03/2019 20:36

I am sad
for my children
for the economy
for the ecosystem
for democracy
for peace
its all such a pointless waste of energy

AnyOldPrion · 12/03/2019 20:36

Oh and... my daughter is unlikely to come back to the UK for university. I strongly suspect two out of my three children will end up staying here, where it’s stable.

RomanyQueen1 · 12/03/2019 20:37

Tbh, I'm past caring, what will be etc. There's nothing we can do about it, despite how people think we have a say, we really don't. We were good and stitched up, it was no surprise tbh.
We were never supposed to know what the leave box meant.
I'm glad I didn't vote, it's a pity that other people who didn't understand voted.

Imustbemad00 · 12/03/2019 20:38

@Silvercatowner I work, I have family. Never heard more than a passing joke or comment about it in real life.

@JamPasty ImNone of my family or friends have ever tried to work in the eu. I can’t imagine that’s an issue that will effect my kids tbh. The medicine issue, is serious, but I truly don’t believe it. I don’t for a second believe that people are going to die because of a lack of medication. We’re not a third world country.

@Colourpencils I didn’t vote. I’ve never voted. I’m not trying to be ignorant. I don’t think about it because it doesn’t affect me personally and I’m not sure it ever will.

I understand there will be a huge impact for businesses. But a selfish as it is for me to say, it doesn’t effect me so doesn’t require me to spend time worrying about it.

I’m glad people are finally seeing the government for what they are. I believe this happens because of lower classes being pushed down for so long and wanting to make a stand for some sort of change. To prove a point. It could of all been avoided if the government weren’t so corrupt and actually listened to people.

Imustbemad00 · 12/03/2019 20:39

If I had to vote now though I would vote to stop the whole thing and forget about it.

Unfinishedkitchen · 12/03/2019 20:41

Seriously, there are people who don’t know anyone who talks about it in real life? They must literally walk around with their hands in the ears with eyes closed.

This is the biggest thing to happen to this country since WW2. The country is crumbling as we’re paralysed by Brexit.

I’ve alternated between scared and angry since June 2016. This whole shitshow is unforgivable.

Jobs (a fuckton of them) and healthcare are on the line. I watched the BBC coverage of today’s vote and they were interviewing leave voters in Luton (why do they never interview remain voters??) and the naivety and lack of understanding of the gravity of leaving with no deal was breathtaking. People saying they’re not worried about leaving with no deal. Clearly they don’t need to work and can afford private healthcare and expensive food then? Highly doubt it though.

diabeticsanon · 12/03/2019 20:41

romany totally agree, what's the point of raging ? we can't do anything about it.

Colourpencils · 12/03/2019 20:42

imustbemad do you not care about Northern Ireland? How can you be completely insulated from a real downturn in the economy? Finally, can I ask why you didn't vote? Genuinely curious, not looking for a fight - there's enough of that going on elsewhere!

Silvercatowner · 12/03/2019 20:42

I didn’t vote. I’ve never voted. I’m not trying to be ignorant. I don’t think about it because it doesn’t affect me personally and I’m not sure it ever will

Well... that kind of explains the lack of awareness.....

cdtaylornats · 12/03/2019 20:43

Remain cheated

Justheretogiveaviewfrommyworld · 12/03/2019 20:43

Remainers have always been angry that anyone dared to have a different view to them. I, as a leaver, who doesn't mind the prospect a second vote, I will have my one vote as before and will use it as I see fit, so why would be bothered by the prospect, am starting to get angry. I don't understand why my choice is worth less than someone elses and can be ignored. Leavers voted as they did for a reason, whether they are believed by others to be valid or not. Those reasons cannot and should not be ignored! Where those reasons were formed on misinformation/misunderstanding (immigration and the scope of FOM, are prime examples of this) investment is needed in an awareness raising campaign and greater understanding of the role and structure of the EU.

Where the disillusionment has been caused by domestic government policies (not just the Tories, btw) the government need to admit this and address it, through increased investment in post industrial and deprived areas and a move from London centric policies.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 12/03/2019 20:43

I’m as angry as I ever was.
