I'm really enjoying the thread in here about what is the best money you have ever spent, so thought we could do a reverse one?

Mine is spending ££££ on genuine Jo Malone perfume, smelt heavenly for all of 20 minutes then just totally faded away to nothing Angry

Oh no just been reminded of my pale grey timberland boots that I’ve only worn once!

ProfessorofPerspective · 14/03/2019 15:27

I've been promising myself a pair of Timberlands - will ensure that I get them in a practical colour and finish and wear them all the time!

Hilary’s blinds .
Worst company ever,
They’re blinds that you can’t use with the window open ( yes they actually told us this ) , badly fitted by a so called professional and they’re fucking extortionate

Several hundred quid on a hypnobirthing course when pregnant with my first child. What an absolute waste of time and money. I borrowed a tens machine for my second labour and that was a million tones more useful.

Love this thread!

Mine is lingerie. Aside from my normal daily wear bras, I bought probably 20 beautiful and expensive bras and bra/pants sets over a few years - at least £50 each. They are all so uncomfortable I only tried to wear them on dates, and they don't give you a nice silhouette under clothes (too tight and lacy) so I didn't even wear them then. I recently binned them all which was both sad and a relief.

And a series of ultrasonic or something fat blasting treatments. I saw it on Groupon and apparently you just lie there and they melt your fat away! It cost £150. After buying I realised that was obviously ridiculous, and didn't go (no refunds obv).

A gastric balloon in Prague I was only a little over weight I was 12 stone. I was 13 stone when they removed it!

I once spent £50 on a pair of knickers.

pineapplebryanbrown · 14/03/2019 20:14

Theatre tickets, so many theatre tickets. On the day i look at the tickets and think "is it worth £50 to me to stay home?". The answer is always yes.

pineapplebryanbrown · 14/03/2019 20:21

The £50 knickers looked so good that they forced me to get drunk and show them to people, got kicked out of a nightclub due to those knickers.

KooMoo · 14/03/2019 20:22

£500,000 on forever home. Although it won’t be forever as the neighbours are hellish!!! Struggling to sell too. Sure was one bad move.

PixieQueen, if you bought the UD palette online it may have been a fake. My DD recently got an eyeshadow palette (not UD, another well-known brand like it) as a Christmas present, and it wasn't till she opened it and compared it to how it should have looked online that she realised. We got a refund on behalf of the family member who bought it (had clicked on a Google search result thinking it was the genuine website - you know how it goes - and got a crappy knock-off.)

Actually, this thread reminds me of the 'Jamaican Blue Mountain' coffee that we bought suspiciously cheaply when we went on holiday there a couple of summers ago. It tasted horrible when we opened it at home, all harsh and bitter, and I'm convinced it was fake. Oh well, it was hardly our life savings.

millythepink · 15/03/2019 20:45

I've just bought a slightly used Bobbi Brown palette off a seller on eBay, the colours are gorgeous but don't seem very pigmented at all? Will it be a fake Sad

Oh have just read reviews and loads of complaints about how the shades barely show on even very fair skin.

£990 on an "ibed" from a very well known bedding retailer.
It will be perfect for those who have night sweats, said the sales fella. It whisks away the heat and leaves you cool and heat free.
What a load of bollocks, it reflects hear back onto you and you sweat even more!
Sadly out of the "40 day sleep guarantee" and stuck with this shit mattress. Would rather sleep on the bastard floor Angry
