Beware, CB digital tests are not the most sensitive out there at 50miU/ml whereas FRER are 10miU/ml and others range between 10 and 25. Ectopic pregnancies tend to have lower levels of hCG than uterine pregnancies tooso are more likely to show up on CB as negative for longer.

I hope you get the answer you are looking for xx

With those sex dates you should be 8/9/10 weeks pregnant. The pale lines look positive to me which leaves three possibilities:

  1. Evaps/false positives
  2. Pregnant but problems eg early mc or ectopic (critical - I nearly died)
  3. Hook effect - SO pregnant that tests start getting lighter.

I don't think the Clear Blue can be relied on as they are least sensitive, and if the Hook Effect is in action it means you're quite far along. Ectopics mess with HCG levels and don't always have symptoms. You need to take the positive tests and get medical advice, TODAY.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 16:39

Thank you lesslivid. I will take all you have said on board.
I bled on the 3rd feb for 5 days. Do wondering if this was possibly an implant bleed (had previous heavy implant bleeds with past pregnancies) so assuming this was an implant bleed then i would be 4-5 weeks ? Maybe im wrong . But i will look into that hook affect because never heard of it.
Also i am a small slim woman so think i may be showing by now? Xxx

Another who had no idea sterilisation was so unreliable!

MrsMozartMkII · 10/03/2019 17:39

Fingers crossed it's just a test blip and that all is well lass.

BarryTheKestrel · 10/03/2019 17:44

My DH was conceived 6 months after MIL was steralised. It's definitely not unheard of. Good luck OP whatever the outcome.

LilQueenie · 11/03/2019 01:18

You can still get pregnant with only one ovary. I only have a quarter of one ovary left and it ovulates every single month without fail.

TheSerenDipitY · 11/03/2019 04:58

did they use clips during your sterilization procedure? i have, a long time ago, read stories saying sometimes they move? slip off? get dislodged somehow? and suddenly you are preggers
so if that was used maybe it could happen....

Zoflorabore · 11/03/2019 05:10

Wow op you must be so confused. It is unlikely you're pg but I would still do the internet cheapies when they arrive just to put your mind at rest Flowers

Spam reported.

Nothing to add in the way of advice, just support, as I’ve not much experience with pregnancy myself having had a lot of difficulties conceiving. Hope you’re ok and won’t be needing more medical intervention.

CanuckBC · 11/03/2019 05:48

Good luck, our bodies like to mess with us so much!!!

Storm87 · 11/03/2019 06:18

Shameless placemarking! Good luck op

Birdie6 · 11/03/2019 06:42

Having one ovary doesn't mean anything, OP. They both work equally well, so whether you have one or two , you still ovulate every month. I hope you get a clear result soon.

Ozziewozzie · 11/03/2019 06:51

I have 5 children and have asked to be sterilised. Sterilised is one of the least safe options. They put pegs on Falopian tubes, but sometimes these pegs can move or fall off. I was advised against it and went for coil instead. The consultant advised me this.

Storm87 · 11/03/2019 07:08

Wow ozzie 😯 thats shocking! Especially when the main reason i was steralised is because post pregnancy sets my bipolar disorder of terribly 😕 thats why they never questioned me at all when i asked to be steralised. Xx

OP posts:
FaithInfinity · 11/03/2019 07:25

Sterilisation is quite a significant procedure - GA required, abdominal incisions - and not always effective, therefore they will encourage women to look at alternatives - snip for their partner, the coil- instead. But obviously it’s personal choice.

Good luck this morning Storm87.

KitKat1985 · 11/03/2019 07:34

Good luck this morning OP.

ahtellthee · 11/03/2019 07:43

Not always @Ozziewozzie

With me they cut and removed a section of my Fallopian tubes, it was done during my fourth c-section. I absolutely did not want the pegs because as you say, there is no way of knowing if they come off

Buddyelf · 11/03/2019 07:48

Good luck OP I hope you get the answer you want. This thread has definitely given me some info on sterilisation I wasn’t aware of before

Storm87 · 11/03/2019 10:49

Thanks all. Hopefully the tests will be their when i get home later about 4 ish. Ill keep all updated xx
