Is this positive?? Im sterilised!
bobstersmum · 10/03/2019 12:55

If you are sterilised why would you do a pregnancy test? Can it be not 100%? I've never heard of this!

FaFoutis · 10/03/2019 12:55

I had a false positive on one of those.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 12:56

I tested because of missed period xx

Wouldn't a clear blue digital one be best where there are no interpretation issues?

ATBhinchers · 10/03/2019 12:57

Yep you need one of those "pregnant or not pregnant" ones

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 12:57

Yes im going to get one in next couple days and post on here just so you all know the outcome xx

In between the box where you type, and the 'post message' button, there is this:

Images (up to 30 per day:
Choose File

You click on one of them, and insert what it is you want to insert.

Passthebubbly · 10/03/2019 12:58

Definitely both look positive to me

Passthebubbly · 10/03/2019 12:58

Next couple of days????? You have more patience than me

ATBhinchers · 10/03/2019 13:00

Yeah OP go to the shop and get one. That doesn't take 2 days!

BoobiesToTheRescue · 10/03/2019 13:00

Nah. Crap tests.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 13:01

I just domt believe this could be happening. If i am then it will be a massive shock!! Lol steralised and one ovary.

Fiveletters · 10/03/2019 13:01

I’d be going to get another one today!
I’m off to google how sterilisation works Blush

ghostyslovesheets · 10/03/2019 13:02

OP I really don't want to be a drama lama but do test asap with a decent pink test - there is an increased risk of ectopic if you have been sterilised - so it needs checking sooner rather than later

BoobiesToTheRescue · 10/03/2019 13:02

You have to drag it out for two days?

Please 🙄

Robstersgirl · 10/03/2019 13:03

Superdrug own brand are more sensitive than FRER I’ve been told. Most open till 4pm today!

minisoksmakehardwork · 10/03/2019 13:03

Cut tubes can rejoin so it is possible. They can rejoin straight away or years later. I'm not sure if you have the essure type as they put a thing in to create scar tissue rather than cutting.

But: I really wouldn't wait to get another test. If you are pregnant, the risk of ectopic pregnancy is higher after sterilisation. And 1 in 200 can fail.

FindPrimeLorca · 10/03/2019 13:03

Standard female sterilisation is not one of the most reliable methods of contraception. It’s pretty good, because there’s no user error, but it’s not as good as implants or make sterilisation. If pregnancy would be absolutely disastrous (eg you live in Northern Ireland and have health complications which mean a pregnancy might kill you) then you probably shouldn’t rely on it alone. People just hear the word “sterilisation” and assume it’s 100%.

Imacliche · 10/03/2019 13:05

Sorry but yeah they are positive

HollowTalk · 10/03/2019 13:05

Can you get one of those tests that just says "pregnant"?

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 13:05

Of out. Will reply later xx

@boobiestotherescue
There's no need to be rude.

Mumsymumphy · 10/03/2019 13:08

There's loads of websites with stories of failed sterilsations! They clearly tell you at the time of op there's a 1 in 200 chance of failure so its not 100% safe.
I had a scare last year, sterilised but missed a period for the first time in 34 years (apart from when I was pg) went a bit loopy doing loads of tests & going to docs.....period came 4 weeks later. Same thing happened this year but this time, as I knew it would have been an immaculate conception this time, it has finally sunk in...yep I'm peri menopausal (I'm 44)
