@ApolloandDaphne if the OP is pregnant, then it is very likely to be an ectopic, in which case she will need urgent medical attention. This has already been mentioned a number of times.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 13:52

Ladies it says on this test you can test anytime of day if your period is already missed! So hoing to do it in a min when i get home! Fingers crossed for me

I still don't think 111 will help unless she has symptoms. If she is pregnant she needs to contact her GP practice as a first port of call.

Jekyllandhydesmother · 10/03/2019 13:54

1 in 200 failures seems quite high 🤔 I think the husband will be the one taking the hit on permanent protection in our case !

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 13:59

It says not pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I had no idea female sterilisation was so unreliable! I was hoping to stop using hormonal methods and get snipped now that I’ve had all the kids I want. I guess I’m stuck with fake hormones for another decade or so. sigh

Livingoncake · 10/03/2019 14:03

Yay OP! Maybe follow up with your GP to be sure?

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 14:06

Thanks all. Iv already ordered some internet cheapies so they will be here tomorrow or Tuesday. So i may aswell do them when they arrive and take it from their. Xx

It says not pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️

An ectopic pregnancy can present as negative on a test as hormone levels are lower.

Butterflycookie · 10/03/2019 14:08

What do you want 111 to do? Asking as I’m a 111 health advisor and you don’t have any symptoms? You need to speak to your gp!

RLOU30 · 10/03/2019 14:08

I had so many blue dyes like that before I was ever even pregnant. They are crap. I think you’re okay

Hollyhobbi · 10/03/2019 14:08

Op what age are you?

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 14:16

Im 32 nearly.
And yes your right (111) i have no idea why i said that lol i would just go GP

My friend was being treated for a "uterine cyst" which was causing swelling to her stomach and stopping her periods.
She had been sterilised 4 years previously.
Her pregnancy was discovered at 6 months.

CountessVonBoobs · 10/03/2019 14:28

That blue line test is an evap. When you get a skinny, off centre line like that it's always an evap. Those tests are prone to them.

I feel safe to say you aren't pregnant.

BalloonSlayer · 10/03/2019 14:31

I met a lady who got pregnant nine years after being sterilised.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 14:32

Thank you all. Im so glad! Its unreal! I already have 3 daughters and i got steralised for a reason! :)

I can see the line - I hope its a false positive but they are rare. Can I ask what made you do a pregnancy test in the first place? You were unlikely to be pregnant and your period isn't late so what made you do a test?

timeisnotaline · 10/03/2019 14:45

I had no idea sterilisation was so unreliable 😮😮. Hoping for your sake it’s a false positive op.

FaithInfinity · 10/03/2019 14:45

I had a false positive very similar to the first test. However I think the digital tests are somewhat unrealiable for early pregnancy (you need quite a high hormone level for it to register as ‘pregnant’). Given that your period is still AWOL I would advise going to your GP ASAP, obviously if you experience any abdominal pain or shoulder tip pain seek urgent medical attention.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 15:06

Missed period xx

ahtellthee · 10/03/2019 15:11

Oh no!!! I am scared by all these sterilization failures! I was stériliséd 4 years ago and thought it was 100%!

SinkGirl · 10/03/2019 15:18

Please don’t rely on the digital tests. Firstly, they need a much higher level of hcg to register a positive than dye tests so aren’t reliable in early pregnancy.

Secondly, levels of hcg in ectopic pregnancy aren’t the same as levels in normal pregnancy so false negatives can occur.

If your period is late then I would see your GP to be safe so they can do a blood test.

Storm87 · 10/03/2019 15:19

A digital told me i wasn’t pregnant with my last daughter, when on actual fact i was about 6 weeks! So dont know why im so trusting of this one. Maybe just based on the fact that im steralised with one ovary
