Just that really. I know some of you will think ‘who cares?’ but I find her kind of intriguing. Always so well turned out/groomed, very poised, polite...I wonder what her real personality is? How does she manage so much scrutiny?

Have you actually met her in a non official setting
I have too

so what is your point?

It's not perception, it's factual! You can't twist facts to make them match your opinion I am afraid.

blackteasplease · 12/03/2019 18:25

Honestly, I always feel ridiculously jealous of her. Not for her money, but for having a non-abusive husband and unconditionally supportive parents (Or so it appears).

I know those things apply to a vast number of people but for some reason I always think of KM as the symbol of having those things.

Weird of me.

But she comes across as pleasant and probably good company, if quite typically public school.

Pickleup · 12/03/2019 18:30

I have heard via a non-tabloid journalist friend of mine that she is not popular among other parents at Thomas’ Battersea. George isn’t allowed to mingle outside school with the other kids eg at parties.

Having said that, the press loathe MM and Harry so much that they are now all much more pro-Cambridge than they used to be....

blackteasplease · 12/03/2019 18:36

But may be they can't allow him to go to parties and the like due to security concerns?

user1457017537 · 12/03/2019 18:38

I heard from someone who went to school with William that he wasn’t allowed to socialise either. His friends were handpicked from nursery through to Eton.

LunaLunitaLunera · 12/03/2019 18:46

I have a close friend who has worked for Charles then William since he was at Eton still does. So 20+ years in all.
Kate is loyal, funny and very hands on with the children. But extremely aware of her role and takes it very seriously.

pollyname · 12/03/2019 18:48

I feel very jealous of her. I also suffered from very bad HG, I found it so traumatic I could never be pregnant again.

pollyname · 12/03/2019 18:49

Also, I think Kate seems lovely. If she was horrid the tabloids would be full of stories about her. I'm a SAHM, and definitely feel like that is a productive use of her time.

Thisisnotadrill · 12/03/2019 18:51

Why are posh people so tall?

My son went to a posh school and he was tiny compared to all the others Confused

HairyToity · 12/03/2019 19:32

No idea what she is like. Unless any of us have met her personally, then I think we are only guessing. There is a celeb who I went to school with, and was a bully gets nothing but praise on here and in the papers. Another celeb who is a family friend, and I've always found to be rather lovely, gets lots of flak.

SheStoopsToConker · 12/03/2019 19:54

That's not exactly how tabloids work...

Dapplegrey · 12/03/2019 19:55

His friends were handpicked from nursery through to Eton.

Both his prep school and Eton were boarding schools - pretty hard to control who he made friends with at boarding school I would’ve thought.

catinboots99 · 12/03/2019 19:57

@Thisisnotadrill something to do with breeding I expect? Me and my mum are both 5'3" and she's always said we have 'working class legs' 😂

Thisisnotadrill · 12/03/2019 19:58

@catinboots99

What do they feed them when they “breed” them? 😂😂

Pinkcat231 · 12/03/2019 20:12

I think she seems like a nice, well rounded woman, and love these threads about ‘famous’ people! Always wonder if they read them for a laugh Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 12/03/2019 20:19

William needed a woman who could keep her mouth shut and not embarrass him. She's done that. It is not the job of a Royal wife or girlfriend to shoot her mouth off

This ^^ If we must have a monarchy at all it's my view that boring is often better, or at least safer compared to what can happen when they behave in a more "exciting" way

And yes, I've met Kate - on a Norfolk beach with George and a couple of guys I assumed were security. She was perfectly lovely, exquisitely mannered, very well informed about local issues and ordinary in the nicest possible way

shuttersaregreen · 12/03/2019 20:23

If you get to St Andrews Uni you aren’t thick. Fact. I have no idea how anyone can suppose she has no ideas or interests on the basis she hasn’t had a ‘career’. What a load of absolute crap.

user1457017537 · 12/03/2019 21:40

Dapplegrey he had his Royal Protection officers with him, so not hard at all.

Dapplegrey · 12/03/2019 22:27

User so Prince William’s security detail decided who he could be friends with at Ludgrove and Eton? Are you sure about that? What happened if William chose to play with someone who wasn’t ‘handpicked’?

I would do anything to find out her exercise routine.

@LunaLunitaLunera @SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy @Pickleup do your friends have any insights?!

Dapplegrey I think you are being goady and I don’t wish to engage.

SleepingStandingUp · 13/03/2019 00:32

She's the same age as me, got married a year or so before me and DS is the same age as Charlotte. It struck me that she didn't do an awful lot between when we graduated and when she married.
I get the press were crap but I wonder if she'd stuck with it, at any of the handful of jobs she had, if they'd have got bored. And she'd have done something with her expensive education other than wait for a proposal.
But then it's not like she needed to work to move out her parents house where she was sharing with her sister in the box room and where rent on a little bedsit would be half her wage!!

She seems nice, her and William seem in love, she clearly dotes on the kids and it seems she's hands on and wanting them to be as normal as possible. It seems she does "work" wise what William expects of her, which I guess is her job

Thisisnotadrill · 13/03/2019 00:35

Pretty sure her and Pippa lived in a rather upmarket flat in London that their parents paid for.

She has done nothing wrong. I don’t know why people feel the need to attack her.

DioneTheDiabolist · 13/03/2019 00:39

She's nice.Smile She loves Catherine Cookson books. Weirdly she is obsessed with goldfish, yet her favourite food is sushi.Confused She listens to a lot of Queen and Cocteau Twins. Her spirit animal is an ocelot.
