They are arguing quite loudly whilst I’m trying to eat my lunch. Angry

AIBU to think it’s basic manners not to row when in a restaurant?

Yanbu. What are they arguing about?

shedougahole · 07/03/2019 12:56

YANBU. I wouldn’t be able to argue in front of so many people anyway, I’d be too embarrassed

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/03/2019 12:57

Can you move? Is everyone looking at them?!

Thisisnotadrill · 07/03/2019 12:58

I love it when this happens - what’s the row about?!

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 07/03/2019 12:58

where are you?

and yes, what are they rowing about?

Drum2018 · 07/03/2019 12:59

Get involved in the argument - they might be so stunned it will shut them up.

livefornaps · 07/03/2019 12:59

Ouuuuhhh what is the row?

I'd just think: free front-seat midday entertainment

WarpedGalaxy · 07/03/2019 13:00

Can you hear clearly what they are arguing about?

If you can’t, ask them to speak up because you’re missing the good bits.

If you can, what are you complaining about?

I love listening in on a good public restaurant row - assuming it’s not some abusive twat berating and browbeating a partner of course.

QandAsk · 07/03/2019 13:02

They’re rowing about a money transfer that apparently incurred a fee! To be fair to him, it’s all her raiding her voice and using quite a nasty tone speaking to him.

QandAsk · 07/03/2019 13:02

I’ve just moved to another table and told the waitress why

QandAsk · 07/03/2019 13:05

Now she’s on the phone talking really loudly over the music Angry

You see people on here recommending that couples go out to 'discuss' their difficulties in a public place, the assumption being that they will be better behaved in a public place. Nothing more embarrassing than arguing in public imo, I'm always shocked when I see it.

EssentialHummus · 07/03/2019 13:08

Ooh, I love public arguments!

Thisisnotadrill · 07/03/2019 13:09

I can’t believe you moved - you’re missing it!!

QandAsk · 07/03/2019 13:14

What a nasty person she seems. Poor bloke is looking extremely embarrassed.

Damntheman · 07/03/2019 13:19

I second the motion to get involved! Defintely ask her to speak up as you're missing important parts of her argument, it'll likely humiliate her into stopping.

Drum2018 · 07/03/2019 13:20

Give him the eye to come and join you instead.

Newyearnewme2019 · 07/03/2019 13:20

I bet he's got form for this though, she's probably told him what to do and he should have done it days ago, he forgot and now a cost has been incurred as they had to make a CHAPS payment (money released straight away to recipient)

I'd be pissed of with him too Grin

beefthief · 07/03/2019 13:20

Basic manners not to sit on your phone in a restaurant imo.

Drogosnextwife · 07/03/2019 13:25

Oh I love listening to other people's arguments, makes me feel as if do and I are normal after all 😂

UterusUterusGhali · 07/03/2019 13:31

Eh, Beef? If you're dining alone? Is reading allowed? Hmm

hickerydickerydockmouse · 07/03/2019 13:33

Join in Grin. Give your point of view to them and when she tells that it's not your business you can remind her that she is doing it in a public space in a voice which everyone can hear so you assumed you are allowed to interfere.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 07/03/2019 13:33

I never understood why people have to argue in public, many times whilst Im at the bus stop I hear couple arguing coming out of shops. Talk about attention seeking.

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 07/03/2019 13:35

But op you have your phone out at your table!

thedisorganisedmum · 07/03/2019 13:37

I think Beef means talking (and loudly) on the phone in a restaurant is extremely bad manner.
