Just for fun, in AIBU for traffic;what does an average go like for you?
Mine goes something like;
6.50 get up get dressed and ready for work.(clothes set out previous night)
7.10 wake up DC and get breakfast/finish my make up.
7.30 get and help DC dressed, teeth brushed, hair brushed etc.
7.50/8.00 finish lunches if necessary/put all necessary bags and lunches in the car, and sort out washing machine on a timer.
8.10/8.15(latest) leave house
8.20/8.25 drop DC to school/Montessori
8.25 go to work
9.00-2.40 work (I’m a teacher so these are my contact/school hours)
2.40-3.00/3.10 sort out some planning/photocopying etc
3.00/3.10 leave work
3.30/3.40 collect DC
3.50/4.00 home
4.00-5.30/6.00 this is our free time so it varies depending on day or weather , take DD to swim lesson/gymnastics/etc or light the fire and stay home or go to the park/visit friend/family for an hour. And also make dinner
5.30/6.00 dinner time
6.00-6.30 DC play for half hour
6.30 bath/get ready for bed. Listen to DD read.
7.00-7.15 bedtime
7.15....get all bags and lunches (most of) ready for the next day, set out clothes and uniforms for the next day.

My DH Works away for weeks at a time so this is a day when he is away.

It’s very interesting how different the two approaches are. I think I’d definitely be packing up and heading for Ireland tomorrow if I was a teacher Grin

19:00 home, warm up food for dinner
19:30-20:00 dinner time
20:00-21:00 toddlers bed time routine
22:00 my bed time routine

In a week, I'll be starting a new role where I can work remotely 100%. It also means I'll be able to do pick ups and drop offs if needed, but also that DP won't need to leave as early. Dinner will be ready when they get in and I'll save £4k a year on travel. Best of all, I won't need to get up at half 5 for yoga. I really can't wait, this new job is going to improve our routine so much.

What busy people we are! I am always cross with myself for not doing more exercise/ housework/ the hobby that is supposedly my passion/ watching the latest must-watch drama/ having more sex. Think I may just give myself a break.

I get up earlier than I strictly need to as it's nice to not be too rushed. On the days I hit snooze I always regret it.

6.25am up, shower, breakfast
7am get kids up, make breakfast X 2, lunch X 4
8am leave for work/ school
8.15am drop kids, walk to work
9am arrive at work until 4pm (x3) or 5.30pm (x2)
If it's my early day, pick up kids at 4.30.
Home just before 5pm. Homework, housework, make dinner
6.30 dinner (if it's my late days I just arrive home for this)
Twice a week there are later clubs after dinner until 7 or 8pm
8pm start bedtime, kids have showers, stories etc
9pm go downstairs, TV or read
10pm bed

This was my day as a teacher, before I quit:

6.15 get up, get kids up get us all ready
7.20 in the car waiting for nursery to open
7.30 dash to school, arrive before 8 if lucky with traffic.
8-8.30 set up classroom for the day, locate all the resources I need, maybe check emails
8.30-8.45 briefing or duty
8.50-3.15 teach. Lunch might be trying to eat a sandwich while managing detentions, sorting a kid out, taking a call from a parent.
3.15-4.30 meetings twice a week. Other weeks I’d be planning.
4.30-5.30 planning lessons for next day, based on today’s progress.
5.30 dash back to nursery to get kids
6.10 home - spend some time with kids, eat dinner.
7pm kids to bed
7.30-whenever I’m done (could be 9, could be 12) Mark 3 piles of books and a stack of exam papers. Catch up with admin, which could be reports, form for Senco, pastoral stuff, plan assembly, plan dept meeting, reply to emails, write a reference, write a revision resource, plan hwk etc depending on day/month.

That’s why I left.

Teacher, with a toddler and a teenager

4:50am alarm
5am mark a set of books/ essays

7amish shower and get ready. DH tends to get DS ready.

7:45 leave for work. Do my emails on the way in.

I then teach/ plan until end of school day at 3:30.

Most days I am in a meeting/ running revision or a club and will then do admin from they day and my emails, copying etc until 6pm.

6pm- 7:30 ish Cook, tidy and have time with DS.

Between 7:30 and 9:30 I might help eldest child with homework, or I will be out at something lined to my interests out of school.

Between 10pm and midnight I am either planning or marking.

I clearly need to move to Ireland.
