Nobody is saying anything negative about it - just discussing it, as is human nature.
If people suspect they're being lied to, they'll talk about it. People talk about celebrities and what's going on in their lives (that's what happens when you're mega-famous) a ridiculous amount anyway - this is just part and parcel of that.
Clearly - being gay has a negative affect on a Hollywood actor's chances of being a bona fide leading man/woman. Ian McKellan - national treasure, but not a leading man.
There are plenty of gay actors in Hollywood - some in the closet, some out. Those that are out aren't in the same league, box office-wise, as those that are in.
It's not fair.
Just as it's not fair that Hollywood men carry on their careers in middle age paunch and grey hair, while their leading ladies get younger and younger.
