Apologies if this is elsewhere... AIBU to think that they cannot possibly have NOT fallen for each other?! Their chemistry is sizzling, their body-- language 'close' (possibly after months of filming) Reminds me of Bogie & Bacall showing age--

The beards do it for money. They are paid millions.

Helmetbymidnight · 26/02/2019 17:21

who pays them?

can i apply to be a beard?

1ndig0 · 26/02/2019 17:27

But if it’s all about the money, she could just shack up with some millionaire or marry someone with millions and divorce him? No kids, no trouble.

SparkiePolastri · 26/02/2019 17:29

And my point is that only arseholes who want to make themselves feel better by talking negatively about others do this.

Confused

You're on this thread discussing it, just as much as anyone!

Nobody is saying anything negative about it - just discussing it, as is human nature.

If people suspect they're being lied to, they'll talk about it. People talk about celebrities and what's going on in their lives (that's what happens when you're mega-famous) a ridiculous amount anyway - this is just part and parcel of that.

Clearly - being gay has a negative affect on a Hollywood actor's chances of being a bona fide leading man/woman. Ian McKellan - national treasure, but not a leading man.

There are plenty of gay actors in Hollywood - some in the closet, some out. Those that are out aren't in the same league, box office-wise, as those that are in.

It's not fair.

Just as it's not fair that Hollywood men carry on their careers in middle age paunch and grey hair, while their leading ladies get younger and younger.

Battytwatty · 26/02/2019 17:30

It’s a business deal. Plenty do it in Hollywood.

IamPickleRick · 26/02/2019 17:30

how many gay men do you know who marry a woman, not once, but twice! And then have a child with a woman.

My friends dad did this. A girl from school’s dad did too but I don’t know the details of that one. I don’t think being married is proof of anything really. He might just be a serial shagger and be in to men and Irina. She’s gorgeous after all.

IamPickleRick · 26/02/2019 17:33

^ not that it should matter to anyone except BC and his wife, of course.

And just to add that chemistry on film can be entirely manufactured. If anyone has seen the sex scene in Don’t Look Now, it looks real. Completely real. And it wasn’t. There are rumours 30 years on about that scene. And it wasn’t real. Any good actor can fake that.

Battytwatty · 26/02/2019 17:35

It always makes me chuckle when someone stomps onto these kind of threads and waggles their finger at us like theyre the bleeding head girl or something.

Profile? Who knows.

I hadn't heard the BC rumours until this thread, so have no opinion on him, but clearly Tom Cruise's relationship history is so unbelievable as to suggest something is going on.

I'm sure the woman he contracted to marry (and have children with) did it for reasons other than just money and lived to regret it.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 26/02/2019 17:39

Blind Gossip tends to be true more often than not. Although you may have to wait some time - if it does turn out to be true they'll always post a 'solved' update.

SparkiePolastri · 26/02/2019 17:40

...women

LuciaSpain · 26/02/2019 17:59

I still don't think a woman like Irina would give up the chance to find a proper relationship and be happy. She is a top model in her own right. She doesn't appear to be trying to break into acting so why would she need to further her fame when she's famous anyway?

Perhaps she had a baby with BC and she realises now or has accepted he is gay. Perhaps he is bi.

It shines a very disturbing light on Hollywood if people feel they can't be who they are. I definitely agree Hollywood is homophobic.

1ndig0 · 26/02/2019 18:03

I don’t know anything about Tom Cruise but he’s looked crazed for about 2 decades. Wasn’t he into Scientology at one point? I think they all struggle to stay sane.

Bowchicawowow · 26/02/2019 18:04

Divorce can be messy and expensive. A business contract is a lot more straightforward. Anyway, they may be gay themselves so it's a win, win.

PineapplePower · 26/02/2019 18:06

t always makes me chuckle when someone stomps onto these kind of threads and waggles their finger at us like theyre the bleeding head girl or something

Yep. These people (well, their people) pay fluffy celeb mags to run stories about their fake relationships. The last thing they want is people leaving them alone.

Helmetbymidnight · 26/02/2019 18:06

who's paying them though?

Bowchicawowow · 26/02/2019 18:07

The actors, their agents, the studios. They are all worth millions. It's peanuts to them.

MissionItsPossible · 26/02/2019 18:07

Not just Hollywood though. I just read an article about a Chinese broadcasting company who recently censored Rami’s Oscar speech to edit out the references to Freddie Mercury being gay. They also blurred any sight of rainbow flags in the Eurovision Song Contest and lost the rights to broadcast it the following year. And didn’t Russia censor Beauty and the Beast to omit the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it gay scene? A lot of countries have anti-gay ‘propoganda’ laws and would not show films with gay and out lead actors in it and the money making machine that is Hollywood panders to that.

Bowchicawowow · 26/02/2019 18:09

Exactly Mission. You have to remember that the studios care about the money they take in other territories, not just the US and UK.

the actors, the agents and the studios? three seperate income streams and contracts?

U2HasTheEdge · 26/02/2019 18:24

I love the pair of of them. I thought she was so beautiful in the film. Love BC's voice and he looks great with long hair and a beard.

I am sure they have chemistry but a lot of it was an act because that is what people want to see. I don't think it is disrespectful to his partner, she knows they are just acting.

I loved the performance.

steff13 · 26/02/2019 18:27

Matt Bomer was a straight hearthrob in White Collar. It was a fairly successful tv show, and he's been in several others.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 26/02/2019 18:30

wow I have read it all now. Who comes up with this stuff. His ex wife has not outed him as see would lose her alimony!!!!and has signed a gaging order!!! She was married to the man for 4 months 12 years ago with no children together. She is successful in her own right and I very much doubt she ever got alimony let alone is still receiving it 12 years later.
The man is 44 years old and pretty much a household name and not one man has come forward to claim to have been his lover and no ex wife or girlfriend has claimed he male lovers but his ex wife has been pretty vocal about his failing in other respects.

But carry on with your gossip as clearly you are all personal friends of the man and know the ins and outs of his personal life and financial dealings.

www.datalounge.com/thread/23239408-is-anyone-really-buying-the-lady-gaga-bradley-cooper-romance-

Everyone on every gossip site going is talking about Ga Ga and Cooper...even the bitchy gay sites.

I do love the sanctimonious gossip averse mumsnetters, they make me laugh.
