DotForShort · 22/02/2019 23:48

What? Confused

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 22/02/2019 23:48

Eh?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/02/2019 23:49

Being an interior designer is rude?

iklboo · 22/02/2019 23:50

Eh?

Lovingbenidorm · 22/02/2019 23:50

Could you explain a little more op?
Can’t say I’m on the edge of my seat here but wanted to contribute

steff13 · 22/02/2019 23:50

Did you mean shouldn't? Because yes, that's rude, interior design is a proper job

babycatcher411 · 22/02/2019 23:51

Guessing it’s meant to say ‘shouldnt’?

If so, YANBU, it’s a valid job, but potentially a very difficult one to make good money from. Which may be his concern.

glitterbiscuits · 22/02/2019 23:51

Interior design of brothels may be rude.
Perhaps just stick to flats?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 22/02/2019 23:55

I know we all make typos (and I can guarantee that this post will contain one!) but seriously, read your title before creating your thread!

Lovingbenidorm · 22/02/2019 23:55

If the question was is it unreasonable to say that interior design is not a proper job,
The, yes indeed it’s very unreasonable!
A close friend is very successful indeed in this field

ArchieStar · 22/02/2019 23:59

Oh I’d love to be an interior designer.

One of you is BU however I don’t know which dependant on typo or not Grin

BackforGood · 23/02/2019 00:02

Come back and explain please, OP

PCohle · 23/02/2019 00:07

It is though. A difficult one to get into I imagine but so are many careers. At 11 she's quite far away from having to make any career related decisions so I wouldn't see any need to slap down her ambitions just yet.

KC225 · 23/02/2019 00:10

If I had my time over again. I would be an interior designer

Lovingbenidorm · 23/02/2019 00:12

Ooooooooooooppppppppppppp?!??!
Where have you gone?
I’m thinking that this is a testament to the level of excitement in my life that I’m waiting for someone to come back and explain themselves further regarding interior design
I should be in a dodgy club

NunoGoncalves · 23/02/2019 00:17

If you change the "should" in the title to "shouldn't", the thread makes more sense.

Quintella · 23/02/2019 00:20

A) Quite rude that he won't tell her being an interior designer isn't a proper job?

B) Quite rude that he has told her this?

I'm going to assume B and if I'm correct, he's a joysucking twit. Of course it's a proper job! People spend more money than ever on their homes, it's big business. And it's not just homes, it's hotels, corporate spaces, exhibitions etc. etc.

Tbh even if an 11 year old declared that they wanted to become a yak herder you'd have to be a miserable Mr Gradgrind to tell them to snap out of it because that was an unrealistic dream.

Monty27 · 23/02/2019 00:24

OP are you talking bollox? I think so ...
Confused

ReanimatedSGB · 23/02/2019 00:28

Perfectly valid job and perfectly reasonable one to aspire to. Maybe slightly unusual for an 11-year-old to have picked it unless there's already one in the family, though.

perfectstorm · 23/02/2019 00:57

Did you mean shouldn't tell your DD that, OP? And that his doing so was quite rude?

perfectstorm · 23/02/2019 00:58

Sorry: should've stopped my own cheque there.

Lovingbenidorm · 23/02/2019 01:54

Well that was a damp fart wasn’t it?

Lovingbenidorm · 23/02/2019 01:54

Sorry, meant squib

Grumpelstilskin · 23/02/2019 01:56

MN should really introduce a breathalyzer before some folk post... Wink

CarpeVitam · 23/02/2019 01:59
