Inspired by the current threads about ads you can't stand, which ads do you think are good, funny, clever or all three, and why?

I love every single Dacia ad especially the ones for Duster. They are funny and don't take themselves too seriously. Unlike some car ads I could mention (the current Renault one with the 'virtual ambassador' which is just cringe).

Can't think of any others atm. I'll think of more I'm sure!

None....I try my best to avoid them. I will record things specifically to FF them.

Although I no longer eat Cadburys chocolate since they made it inedible by adding palm oil, I did like an ad for it last night. Little girl goes into corner shop and asks for a bar of chocolate. She pays with a coin, two buttons and a little toy pony. Shopkeeper hands her bar of Cadburys and returns the pony as her change and outside the shop she hands bar to her mother for her birthday.

Nice ad, shame about the chocolate.

Rockmysocks · 22/02/2019 12:50

Money supermarket: Dave's hot pants dance offs and the action men dance. Love them.

The gecko moving to bangra music in the benecol ad

Cadbury gorilla ad but old now

Foofer · 22/02/2019 13:17

The dog singing flash - masterpiece.

vampirethriller · 22/02/2019 13:22

Moose the Clear Score dog.

GreenWingers · 22/02/2019 13:29

I like the new RAF (I think) one with the snatches of ads for things like make up and sanpro. Makes you realise just how patronising ads aimed at women really are.

Tattybear16 · 22/02/2019 13:33

Harvey and rabbit, an ad about tv ads. Back when tv was worth watching.

MissionItsPossible · 22/02/2019 13:50

Another vote for singing Flash Dog

Someone's knocking on the door post code lottery... ha, I jest.

Urser600400 · 22/02/2019 14:03

I like the current Cadbury one I also like the British airways current one.

TidyDancer · 22/02/2019 14:09

I like the paddy power one with Rhodri Giggs.

Ridingthegravytrain · 22/02/2019 14:10

Thanks missions, now that song is in my head!

LellowYedbetter · 22/02/2019 14:15

The one with He-Man and Skeletor 😂

The cancer research adds with the kids (beans on toast) and the young lad who explains that while all his mates are out playing, he’s stuck in a room. He makes me laugh, his facial expressions and enthusiasm

Hedgehogblues · 22/02/2019 14:16

The coffee one ("if you can't remember my name please sit down...) it makes me teary

BanginHeadache · 22/02/2019 14:16

I like the one with the old farmer swinging and jumping over the fence with the younger bloke in disbelief can’t temember what it’s for though

ItMustBeBedtimeSurely · 22/02/2019 14:20

Just watched that RAF ad and it's brilliant!

But generally find ads puerile, infuriating or both.

Jsmith99 · 22/02/2019 14:24

The current Paddy Power ad with Rhodri Giggs is hilarious. He definitely has a future as an actor!

On a similar theme, the Kronenbourg ad with Eric Cantona which depicted farmers as having the status of footballers was very well done.

nonetcurtains · 22/02/2019 14:27

The one with Usain Bolt on the treadmill and the orchestra, very slap-stick but it makes me laugh. No idea what it's advertising though.

WonkyDonk87 · 22/02/2019 14:35

I like the Heinz beans one - I hope it gets played on the telly in gyms as people walk past with their protein shakes Grin

ssd · 22/02/2019 14:37

I like the direct line adverts with winston wolf

hazandduck · 22/02/2019 14:43

Love the holiday ad with The Strokes ‘Someday’ playing over a mother and daughter on holiday bonding.

Most travel adverts really! The one for EasyJet with that beautiful soothing song playing, and someone saying “imagine where we can take you.”

Also the WWF ad “are you for the earth or against it.” Makes me always stop what I’m doing and get goosebumps.

GrumpyOlderBloke · 22/02/2019 14:44

The one for Gabrielle Miller Trivago always holds my attention.

My wife looks up from her knitting when the one for Brandon Moynihan Hotels.com runs.

She claims it's because it reminds her of me in the 70's.

She's a lovely person, but terrible liar.

PandaMa · 22/02/2019 14:50

Seen one last night that made me LOL - but cannot remember the name of the company! Think it was for gas and electric. Two unicorns reading the paper and one of the unicorns wants to come out of hiding as humans have started to be a bit more eco friendly... I don't explain it well but it is funny I swear!

Babdoc · 22/02/2019 14:52

Years ago now, but I used to love the British Airways ads when they used the music from the Flower Duet in Lakme - it’s a lovely piece anyway, but it fits so well with the soaring flight and 3D freedom of movement of a plane. They used to play it on board the monorail at Gatwick, and it always put me in a good mood before entering the horrors of the terminal building!

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 22/02/2019 14:54

I also LOVE the He-Man and Skeletor one. I never noticed the homo-erotica when I watched it on tv years ago Grin
And so much rhythm!

Aside from that I rarely watch adverts now. Although I really enjoyed the Nike advert a few years back, very London centric, I know. I used to search for it on YouTube

Wedgiecar58 · 22/02/2019 14:58

I like the SpecSavers ad where the farmer shears his sheep and then the sheep dog.

I just like the way it's shot, really nostalgic.
