What random / secret things do you find attractive?!

So... here are the random things I find attractive in a man.

-someone who is good at catching. This sporting prowess makes me weak at the knees.

-an effortless parallel parker. Swoon.

-Smoking. Hear me out... I do not want a smoker in fact I'd actively avoid a man that smokes... but deep down maybe it's the Hollywood old school glamour (or more likely deep seated crushes on the bad boy at school lighting up behind the bike shed) hangs head in shame

What are your slightly less obvious 'secret' things that make you fancy someone?

DH is a builder, I have a thing for builders anyway which is quite handy.

But the other day we were in the allotment, he was building bug boxes for ds and his friend from school. He was all manly with his tools and wood and stuff. Then he stopped and ushered one of our chickens out of the way as she was pecking at the sawdust he was getting. And he didn't want her to get sick.

So a builder, doing manly things while being kind to small boys and animals. He also smelt all manly, a bit sweaty and woody and still smelt of showergel. If I wasn't already married to the bugger would have done it again.

AnguasDogCollar · 23/02/2019 09:22

Glasses. Chunky hairy thighs. Unrestrained dancing.

sizzledrizz · 23/02/2019 09:30

Posh accent, good forearms, someone that is fit through playing sport rather than going to the gym, dimples, Roman nose, a slight bit of stubble (from my teen crush on George Michael I think) and twinkly eyes.I like men that do a lot of out doors stuff, but I don't necessarily want to go out doors with them

TFInotmonday · 23/02/2019 09:33

14 pages and no appreciation for women?! Grin Ok, I'll go..

Playing a musical instrument, preferably electric guitar
Brightly coloured hair
Skinny jeans and converse
Full lips
Long torso
Bit geeky

Men:

Yes to an effortless parallel park
Yes to good forearms
Good sense of humour (dry)
Deep voice
Guitar player (again)
Geeky (again)
Crow's feet
Big hands

ethelfleda · 23/02/2019 09:40

Definitely the forearms thing and the hand on headrest while reversing thing.
Being very tall
Broad shoulders and muscular chest and arms
Intelligence
Being articulate

heymammy · 23/02/2019 09:40

Left handedness, I don't know why.

Parsleyisntfood · 23/02/2019 09:44

Ok it’s aupposed to be secret things and I’ve read 14 pages of nothing to shameful. I’ve realised how much of mine is imprinted from my first crush amd early sexual experiences - bit of a revelation that I’m carrying that 20 years later.
Blokes with grungy hair, long but not styled so definitely not Thor types. Messy and unkempt. It’s one thing on teenagers but on men in their 40’s Blush
Men who talking about their obsession. Doesn’t matter if it’s trains, the Beatles, wild fowl, the Boer war. I love it when someone is talking about the thing they love, I can’t help get sucked in. I have lost many hours to listening to random crap.
Arrogance, I’m not proud but someone who is a bit of a dick makes me a bit silly. DH is the kindest gentlest man and Ds is being raised the same but the thread isn’t about what you look for in a husband.
And there you have everyman I dated in my teens and 20’s.

BarryTheKestrel · 23/02/2019 10:10

Never for a partner (been there done that) but the cocky arrogance of a band front man in skinny jeans, tight black t-shirt, slightly veined forearms, tattoos, a guitar, floppy emoish hair.

Or harking back to the first love days, geeky, glasses, curly wild hair, drummer.

Have a thing for a man wearing a leather bracelet or cuff.

Smelling of petrol or original Hugo boss.

I always always go for broken men that I try to fix, even if I didn't know they were broken initially, it's like I have an inbuilt radar.

Boxers. DH took up boxing a few years ago and I've never found contact sports attractive at all until I saw him in his first fight. Phworr it was a sight to behold. Something about the silk shorts and sweaty, occasionally battered face.

AguerosAngel · 23/02/2019 10:10

DH’s forearms, tattooed, muscly, just hairy enough, and a very nice chunky watch on his wrist Blush

Blompitude · 23/02/2019 10:37

Sort of irregular features, po-faced expression but twinkly eyes when he smiles shyly with his small mouth. Yes, I'm looking at you, Juan Martin Del Potro. Even better a few years ago with slightly longer hair.

WFTisgoingoninmyhead · 23/02/2019 10:41

A man who can make me laugh to the point of needing a wee gets me every time, doesn’t matter if he looks like shrek!!!
And the arm on the back rest, that too!!
Oh and riding a motorcycle really well, that does it too.

formerbabe · 23/02/2019 10:53

Funny how many people are saying playing a guitar. Nothing makes me shudder more than the sight of a man playing guitar especially at a house party....major cringe.

ethelfleda · 23/02/2019 11:44

My DH has a lot of these actually Blush
Plays guitar, has a beard and is very funny, intelligent and witty. Just need him to reverse with his hand on the headrest now and he’ll be perfect Grin

IfNotNowThenWhy · 23/02/2019 11:58

I'm with you former. It's the wank face of concentration. Bleergh.

hazandduck · 23/02/2019 12:14

Ditto @former absolutely awful! Nothing kills the mood more. If someone serenaded me after we had sex I would laugh in their face 🙈

formerbabe · 23/02/2019 12:17
Grin
ChrisPrattsFace · 23/02/2019 12:21

I Always look at men’s noses.
No idea why... Dh has a big nose. He grew into it so it’s now totally in proportion with his face 😂 wasn’t when he was 18 though! I just love it.

shopaholic1978 · 23/02/2019 12:32

I love a good well groomed moustache. Think Agatha christie's Poirot
swoonGrin

Bibijayne · 23/02/2019 12:34

An effortless parallel park is seriously sexy. Especially in a Volvo estate.

FlurkenSchnit · 23/02/2019 12:52

I have a thing for men with long dark eyelashes, teamed with light coloured eyes , also a fan of beards/stubble, body hair & a chunky dad bod! Really like to feel physically smaller than them too.

WhatAQuandry · 23/02/2019 13:01

I'm with the forearms too...

A man in knee length shorts, out chopping wood in the rain.

A man who can light a good fire.

A man with a good mohawk.

A man in a leather kilt that shows off his knees and big boots.

WhatAQuandry · 23/02/2019 13:02

A man with a good mohawk. A proper mohican. Not one of those pretty boy things you see nowadays...

WhatAQuandry · 23/02/2019 13:03

ooh yes a proper chunky dad bod.

KnitFastDieWarm · 23/02/2019 13:27

14 pages and no appreciation for women?!

Good point, let me add to my earlier male ones:

I like a woman with
A husky voice
A slightly androgynous dress sense - love a woman in a suit or a lumberjack shirt
I love a well-done undercut
The dimples at the bottom of a woman’s back just above her bottom

Bisexuality is great cos it gives you double the opportunity to admire all these things Grin

KnitFastDieWarm · 23/02/2019 13:28

Oh and a woman who can play bass guitar or drums Grin
