Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

I love a white bathroom. You can add colour with towels, plants, books, a nice picture, a pastel coloured blind (not bright). Don't paint any wall another colour; but if you feel you must do it in a subtle hue.

ToftyAC · 21/02/2019 17:59

Personally, I think your bathroom is lovely. It just needs a few homely touches and all your stuff.

Clarabella77 · 21/02/2019 18:00

It's lovely! It's just a bit of a blank canvas so a lovely blind will finish it off. A nice set of towels & bathmat in complementary colours to the blind will add some warmth too.

Notreallyhappy · 21/02/2019 18:01

It needs towels & colour. I'll swap you x

Clofty · 21/02/2019 18:06

It’s lovely but the walls are too cream. I would paint a lighter colour (Dulux timeless) add some prints to the walls and accessories-fluffy white mat, fluffy white towels and some gorgeous apocathary type bottles

ShowMeTheKittens · 21/02/2019 18:12

It's like a hotel bathroom. I am not sure what you were aiming for. It's fine.

mrsdementor · 21/02/2019 18:13

I was going to suggest the Dulux Visualizer as I think with the walls painted it’ll look more interesting. I love the grey Callymarch did. Also like green with plants at the moment, though I’d go darker than the green below.

I have to say it looks good but It looks a bit stark at the moment, with a few personalised touches it will be your dream bathroom. Perhaps change the colour of the walls to grey . Have you thought about shutters at the window , expensive yes, but would look right for the window. Then you wouldn’t have to match towels to the blind colour and you’ll be able to change colours often. You can also get pictures/prints specially made for the bathroom . Once you personalise it to your own taste you’ll love it

The bathroom suite is lovely! Flooring is nice too! Colour is a bit dated, I guess it’s freshly painted. A doffernat colour, some plants and “stuff” as it’s a really, really good bathroom x

EmpressoftheMundane · 21/02/2019 18:15

It's lovely.

It looks bare because nothing is in it.

You have stark white porcelain-ware (good choice), grey shower tiles (absolutely fine, and work well with the white), an espresso brown laminate floor (not so good with the white and the grey) and a magnolia/beige paint with a "pink" undertone which works with nothing.

The only thing you can reasonably change is the paint. Choose a cool colour that will work with the grey and the white better and not clash with the floor. Nothing with a yellow or pink undertone. Get a bunch of "neutral" samples and choose the one that looks the best against the grey tiles. (I say neutral because I assume you want a neutral based on picking magnolia the first time around.) The floor won't clash then either.

BigusBumus · 21/02/2019 18:15

Paint the walls Cooking Apple Green or similar and add house plants and a couple of spring green and coral towels. A wooden tray across the bath, some scented candles in white jars, a big funky print on the wall.

MarieeBarone · 21/02/2019 18:18

It's gorgeous! Definitely prefer the green but perhaps a little more pale.

JfgEJ · 21/02/2019 18:19

I think it’s lovely. Just needs colour. Red works well with grey, here’s our red blind. I would also put a picture up to break up the white walls and add a plant somewhere too.

Agree that you just need a good blind and a bolder colour on the walls.. I'd even go for a bold patterned wallpaper before your room is lovely and light. I've got some dark wood and white and used grey and mustard too. I've attached photos to give you the gist

Get some Bright Coloured Towels and some Hand Soap in Pastel Colours or Deep Colours to give the room a splash of colour. I think you will feel much happier with a spash of colour.

Kithulu · 21/02/2019 18:25

Looking forward to seeing the new look Grin

Change the floor and get a bit more colour in there

Palaver1 · 21/02/2019 18:31

Its lovely great job
You can play with it now add your touch to it
All the suggestion are great

di2004 · 21/02/2019 18:32

Your bathroom looks really nice - honest.
All you need is a blind ( maybe a roman with some colour or a pattern) and some bathroom bits & bobs, nice soap dispenser, fluffy towels .. and away you go x

Playmytune · 21/02/2019 18:33

As pps said it needs some colour. I wouldn’t have gone for such bland colours as it looks very stark just now. It needs brightened up, perhaps add some blue with mats, blind, picture etc. Will look lovely after you have personalised it.

summerstorm · 21/02/2019 18:34

Reminds me of my wet room after I moved, mine feels cold and bland needs colour. I’ve tried lots of plants and colourful towels etc

bullyingadvice2017 · 21/02/2019 18:37

Plants and bright colour on the walls

bullyingadvice2017 · 21/02/2019 18:37

Bathmatt and blind

Hailthelime · 21/02/2019 18:39

You just need colour on the walls and accessories. I think it's lovely x
