Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

ours is very like this!

RabbityMcRabbit · 21/02/2019 17:25

I really like it!

pinkstripeycat · 21/02/2019 17:27

Just a few coloured accessories are all that’s needed. It’s lovely

Sacredspace · 21/02/2019 17:28

If you describe in a few words what you envisaged I may be able to tell you how to get it xx

mumoid · 21/02/2019 17:30

It’s fine, just needs personalising. White wooden blind, fluffy large white bath mat, large bright artwork, bright towels. At most, more tiling with contrasting grouting.

birdsandroses · 21/02/2019 17:30

@Caperplips, love the sound of your bathroom.

OP, your bathroom will look lovely once as others have said you paint the walls, add in some coloured mats, plants and a picture. Enjoy!

Purplecatshopaholic · 21/02/2019 17:33

Whats wrong with it? But I like a pared back look. Coloured towels and/or artifacts/ornaments and you are good to go? Paint the walls a funky colour? Cool pics up on the walls? It defo needs colour somewhere (IMHO)

Martinachick · 21/02/2019 17:35

It is too bland. Paint the walls in Manir House Grey Farrow & Ball and add a pink & grey roman blind

Mmest75 · 21/02/2019 17:35

Agreed large orchid in a big pot, bright accessories, rusty orange and mustard it bright fushia and navy, bath mat etc ...
It’s lovely

ALbigbump · 21/02/2019 17:37

It could be stunning with different colour paint, maybe one of the farrow and ball dark blue or grey colours, then a modern blind in a colour to complement the paint? Also some plants. The bathroom suite really is lovely, it’s just the paint colour that’s wrong Smile

Shell4429 · 21/02/2019 17:38

It just looks a bit neutral. Like everyone else has said, you need some colour. A bright canvas featuring coloured beach huts (as an example) some bright towels and a blind will make all the difference. It looks lovely I’m quite envious.

lubeybooby · 21/02/2019 17:39

it's a bit boxy and chunky and masculine but a perfectly nice looking bathroom

NK1cf53daaX127805d4fd5 · 21/02/2019 17:39

It's bland. I'd go for a really funky blind and accessorise with bright colours then it will be lovely

radgemunky · 21/02/2019 17:40

Your bathroom is good - add colou/blind

pollymere · 21/02/2019 17:41

Bright IKEA mats/towels and a different wall colour. It's a little human flesh in colour.

pouraglasshalffull · 21/02/2019 17:41

The actual bathroom is lovely, it just looks bare and needs a bit of colour injecting into it. Maybe through pictures/accessories or some new tiles somewhere

pouraglasshalffull · 21/02/2019 17:42

Mis-read your original comment. Don't bother with re-tiling just get blinds/mats/plant in it to add some colour. Mustard yellow maybe? Or traditional bathroom blues or greens

HippyMama90 · 21/02/2019 17:43

It's lovely!!, needs finishing touches and maybe a bold colour. Blinds and a nice mat and I'm sure you'll grow to love it. X

exaltedwombat · 21/02/2019 17:43

What's to hate? All the bathroom stuff's there. Now add some colour, a plant perhaps...

Nanalisa60 · 21/02/2019 17:46

Coloured blind at the window towels and bath Matt will look much more homely matalan has lovely bathroom assessors. It’s a lovely bath room just needs to be dressed at bit.

Buzzard1973 · 21/02/2019 17:48

I think it looks only half finished. The newness stops at the tiles. You need something to brighten the wall. Possibly one strong colour on the wall the bath is on. Some nice picture frames filled with mirror, not photos.

areyoubeingserviced · 21/02/2019 17:48

I think it’s lovely
Probably a bit of colour like a soft peach

onegiftedgal · 21/02/2019 17:49

I think it's just because you haven't got a feature/impact point. Usually we achieve this through the tile colour/ design or the flooring.
The walls definitely need some colour - 2 different colours - one strong impact colour (jade?) and one tonally grey I think.
Yes, a bold blind required and like you say, towels and mats etc.
Love the mirror above the sink and it looks as great light room - that's why it can take a strong colour.

hdh747 · 21/02/2019 17:58

Very late to the party but for what it's worth, I think the fittings all look very nice but don't quite pull together as a minimalist look. They kind of look like they're all just been plonked in there. And I say this as someone who did up my own bathroom, which is small, a few years back, and realised that minimalist doesn't really come across unless you have a huge bathroom and acres of gleaming tiles. You've had some great suggestions, that really pull the look together. I'm not clever with photoshop and stuff but I took a few pics of mine, blew them up and printed them on paper, then sketched stuff or cut stuff out of the argos catalog lol.
Not sure why you can't have the floor tiled, our bathroom is upstairs in our 200 year old house (very very wonky everything) and the tiles have been ok for 4 years now, no cracks in the grout or anything.

Beautiful bathroom. Just lacking that personal touch! It will soon be put right!
