Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

Just needs a theme (e.g. eastern, coastal, etc)
Statement fabric Roman blind. Teal/emerald matte paint on walls.
Something on wall (artwork/canvas)

lovemelovemydogs · 21/02/2019 18:41

I think your bathroom is potentially beautiful. Your units etc are lovely and the floor, I think the walls are wrong. To me they look pinkish. Personally I would go white. Plus maybe a white Venetian blind. Do you have any magazine pics of bathrooms your love? Could your see what they have that you don't? Good luck. A brilliant start and money well spent. Enjoy it.

TigerTooth · 21/02/2019 18:42

strip lighting around shower base would add a modern twist of glamour? And as everybody has said - colour!
Sham yo blocked window access but I don't suppose thats helpful!
Overall I think its lovely, just needs that splash of colour.

I like the floor. You need a colour on the walls though to balance it. I'd use denim, but I like dramatic Scandi styles.

Teacher22 · 21/02/2019 18:46

It's really lovely. Are you used to something more 'cluttered'?

I am sure a nice blind and some good towels will finish it off.

sniffysnifferson · 21/02/2019 18:48

Its lovely! A nice bright bath mat and blind will add some character, personality and warmth to it.

Triggeroo · 21/02/2019 18:51

Warm Magnolia paint clashes with your greyish tiles. I would go for some shade (darker?) of grey or other neutral colour. And bling blind with chrome squares or on the bottom would add lots of character 🙂

Solange1973 · 21/02/2019 18:51

I think it’s the tiling that makes it look a bit odd. If it was fully tiled it could have the wow factor it is missing now. Fully tiled and a few colourful accessories to tie it all in and it would look lovely (well, that’s my view anyway!)

Bringmevino · 21/02/2019 18:59

How about some funky wallpaper? Something with big foliage or fish or a vintage colour fade type? I think it’s lovely just some colour!

MotherOfDragons90 · 21/02/2019 19:00

I think it’s lovely and I would kill for a bathroom just like it. As PPs have said, a pop of colour in the form of some artwork and a gorgeous bath mat, along with some of your own accessories will make it a dream!

CauliflowerBalti · 21/02/2019 19:04

It just needs nice mats, co-ordinating towels, a statement blind, some plants, some candles - a colour theme. It's a lovely bathroom.

bethy15 · 21/02/2019 19:10

Personally, every bodies tastes vary. So for me, I'm not find of the whole sink unit thing, it's just not to my taste, the same with the bath, as a unit I personally don't like it and like a classic roll top bath if I were to have my dream bath.

I think you need some personalisation too. And the colour of the walls is off. Why magnolia? Go for white or a colour, the magnolia just doesn't go.
I also think the floor is either too dark or not dark enough. To go for a contrast of dark floor and very white units I would have gone a few shades darker. If not I would have made the floor a much lighter shade. If that makes sense at all.

But you must like these as you chose them. Perhaps you are suffering from the anticlimax of it all. To save up and put a lot of effort into a project, when it's done it can make you feel a bit flat.

But you have a nice new and clean bathroom and even though certain things aren't to my taste, it's still lovely and new.

Pumpkin71 · 21/02/2019 19:11

Hi, it looks great, maybe a really bright, busy blind and pick out one of the bright colours for your towels.

mrsglowglow · 21/02/2019 19:11

It's bloody lovely. I would love a bathroom with that much space. Just needs personalizing and warming up as others have said. Fluffy towels, bathroom mat, candles, window blind. Lotions and potions. A nice free standing piece of storage.

campbellonthehill · 21/02/2019 19:31

I want to pop a picture up, but have no idea how to! Can someone explain how?

Damilare123 · 21/02/2019 19:33

Its beautiful. You might wanna hang some plants that is if you love plants. I have fern and few ivys and crawling plants in my bathroom.

Hit reply. Just under where you type choose the attachment symbol (paperclip) choose ‘photo library or browse’.

whyamievenamazeddotcom · 21/02/2019 19:35

Looks lovely change the walls to maybe a sail white or a contemporary white (I think crown) maybe go over one wall after as a feature with a clear but subtle glitter paint (valspar) to offset the chrome fittings and reflect off the units you can then add colour with the accessories some nice glass lidded jars with different shades of white and texture will bring it to life maybe some driftwood pieces or art for the wall that way you don’t have to keep repainting - blinds to go do some lovely moisture resistant made to measure blinds at a reasonable cost x plus there’s always Pinterest for more ideas that may work for you and your family xx

HeronLanyon · 21/02/2019 19:37

I love my own bathroom. Very dark grey walls everything else white. Good lighting. Beautiful rug. Only saying as I know if I emptied everything out it would look cold and empty. You’ll get there op. Nothing looks best completely empty and magnolia

HeronLanyon · 21/02/2019 19:38

Oops first attempt at crossed out text was a spectacular fail.

campbellonthehill · 21/02/2019 19:43

Oh no! It won't let me post as I'm new. Going to try and log in as my old account...

loubielou31 · 21/02/2019 19:43

I really like it. Is there room for a tall plant at the end of the bath? I would probably paint the walls a deep blue on one wall, but my house is entirely grey and blue. It needs the finishes, somewhere to put your towels, a picture on the wall, blind on the window, posh toiletries that no one is allowed to use. Give it a week by when there will be clothes all over the floor and toothpaste on the mirror and it will feel like yours.

MillyMollyMandie · 21/02/2019 19:45

The greens someone mentioned are also going really well with the flooring and that’s what you need to be matching the paint up with.

mootime · 21/02/2019 19:48

Here we go.
Procrastinating wildly (avoiding work and bedtime)
Very easily fixed bathroom. Balance floor with some nice timber shelves. A few plants and a greyish (or green) paint.
