Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

It's a gorgeous blank canvas, just the fun bits to do now.

I bet most of us would swap with you in an instant. Me first.

PrivacyPolicyYeahRight · 20/02/2019 21:54

You need to move into it. Towels/something pretty on the walls/nice blind. It will warm up once it isn’t so soulless!

SlipperOrchid · 20/02/2019 21:54

I would tile it. It needsd a design/colour.

SlipperOrchid · 20/02/2019 21:55

Particularly tile the floor and one wall.

minipie · 20/02/2019 21:57

White paint looks so much better.

I would add a white wooden Venetian blind at the window. Maybe a white duckboard on the floor. Accessories in grey and dark wood. Then maybe some plants or art.

Please don’t do the coordinated “pops of colour”

Ambs81 · 20/02/2019 21:57

As others have said, wall colour is to magnolia-y
I would paint it a strong blue- I love denim drift by dulux, it was their colour of the year last year.

Aberforthsgoat · 20/02/2019 21:58

I would go for a soft sage green paint or a soft turquoise if you wanted something a bit brighter
Plants, and maybe some shelves for clutter unless you want the minimalist look
I think it just looks a bit one colour and empty ah the moment
A nice wooden bath tray with a candle and some lovely smellies on it would look nice too

HeronLanyon · 20/02/2019 22:01

Agree that strong colour on the walls would look lovely particularlynwith you mirror light. Use that app to take a look. I personally don’t like plants in bathrooms but am clearly in the minority on that in this thread !

Aridane · 20/02/2019 22:02

It's gloriously clean, clear and uncluttered and light and airy - I love it.

I wish I could get my bathroom done for £5k.

Once your towels are there, a bath at and a picture, it will feel your own and have splashes of colour.

A nice tall humidity loving plant would be cool between the bath and basin

Rumboogie · 20/02/2019 22:07

Your bathroom furniture is lovely, but the pieces each look isolated - there is nothing pulling them all together. Personally I would have fully tiled the walls, and maybe used contrasting border tiles all round. I think the very dark floor doesn't help - perhaps use a lighter vinyl with a border or edge motif toning with any border tiles used, then a blind in a similar tone?

diddl · 20/02/2019 22:09

I love it apart from the floor, so I'd have bath mats down to break it up.

What was the reason for no tiles upstairs?

Tiles are usual aren't they?

Gone4Good · 20/02/2019 22:09

Looks nice. A nice little bath matt will brighten it up, maybe art work and a few green plants.

AliceAbsolum · 20/02/2019 22:10

Because you will never get back the amount of time you spent at work for this?

Redskyandrainbows67 · 20/02/2019 22:11

The bath is in the wrong place

Redwinestillfine · 20/02/2019 22:12

It needs a splash of colour. Can you change the tiles near the sink for bright ones or put colorful artwork on the wall?

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 20/02/2019 22:12

I’d kills for that
So clean clean clean

LuckyMarmiteLover · 20/02/2019 22:13

Just fine our bathroom too! I love yours with the walls painted white. I don’t think a Roman blind would be a good idea in a damp room such as a bathroom but think a Venusian blind or shutters would be good. I live your bath and loo. I personally love mustard as an accent colour for towels/bath mat etc and have gone for Scion Mr Fox for mine. Will have a look for a pic as ours is white/grey too.

ooooohbetty · 20/02/2019 22:13

It's massive. I love it. I'd paint the walls a dark colour.

Rafabella8 · 20/02/2019 22:15

Ok- it looks absolutely fantastic, but it's the colour of the walls that's not right. Too warm - is fighting with the warmth of the floor tone and is making your tiles look a little olive in tone. I would be really really brave and paint it a dark colour - like F&B Moles Breath. I would then put up shelves, a large print of some sort and a blind at the window.

LuckyMarmiteLover · 20/02/2019 22:16

Actually not Mr Fox but Mr Hedgehog!

I think the cream of the walls and the grey of the tiles doesn't go. I'd go for a dark, bold colour on the walls but it needs to be the right tone for the tiles.

LuckyMarmiteLover · 20/02/2019 22:18

Ontheboardwalk · 20/02/2019 22:18

I like it and please ignore people saying you need to move the bath /sink whatever. The fittings aren’t the issue they are really nice.

As other people have said, you need some blnds, mats and accessories to break up the bathroom. Will make a big difference

Not all tiled does look a bit unusal but what about wallpaper to fill the gaps? I disliked my new kitchen with the bare walls until I got some fancy looking wallpaper and it made a big difference

@ontheboardwalk could I wallpaper that bit in a bathroom? Or would the moisture ruin it, bearing in mind I have 2 kids under the age of 3 and stupidly didn't tile the whole thing Blush
