To ask you to look at this pic of my new bathroom and tell me why I hate it!

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged

You could put tiles all around so it is more joined up with the window wall and the other walls don't look so bare (I would have fully tiled the shower too).

BUT don't change a thing till you have all your stuff in there and used it for a couple of months - you'll either feel completely differently or your thoughts about what is wrong will crystalise.

The floor is beautiful.

Changing the colour of the walls definitely will help, have a look at Little Greene paints as they have some very subtle colours which would look good.
The biggest issue for me though is the tiles they really need to be continued round as at the moment it looks like you've run out of tiles.
Towels a very dark plum would look nice, and plants too.

I used Photoshop. All the bits and pieces were copied from the internet and adjusted to fit, and I drew rectangles of colour over the walls and erased the bits I didn't need.

I think it's lovely. As PP have said just needs a splash (excuse the pun) of colour. Looks really spacious too.

Change the paint to either white or grey. Calm cloud is what we have in our wc. The floor colour is way too dark but that might be a step too far to Change?

It's lovely, apart from the silly pot plant which makes it look like a loo in a pub.

It won't take much at all to make it stunning, you're almost there and it just needs the tweaks.

It looks so much better with white paint.

Seriously, I love your bathroom. I’d sell an organ for your bathroom compared to mine. If I got that bathroom I’d consider it a lotto win compared to what I live with because I can’t afford to have mine done (ever - unless I win the real lotto). It’s fantastic and just waiting for some lovely ikea accessories. Honestly, you’re very lucky, it’s lovely.

It's amazing! Yes it needs styling with a few accessories but you have yourself s lovely bathroom.

This was the room I was most excited about doing in my whole house and although it's a lot better and fresher than it was, it's just not right somehow.
It's cost us £5000 yet has the feel to me of a cheap do-er-up-er to sell! My friend spent 1k on hers and I prefer what she has to mine

Don't be disheartened - it's just the shock of it looking so different that's making you feel despondent aswell as the awful paint colour

A thousand times NO to all the suggestions of these 'pops' of coordinated colour blinds/mats/towels. It will, as someone has already said, make it look like an Argos catalogue. Go classy OP.

I think it’s gorgeous!! My bathroom is rank 🤣 perils of being a renter.

To make it perfect for ‘me’ I would have a lovely shutter style blind or actual shutters on the window and change the paint colour to a more cool toned something.

I like a tiled floor too!

The bathroom it's self is lovely Op. love the sink in particular.
It's definitely the wall colour it's just not pulling it all together. White looks better I think a grey would be even better. It's a lovely big space so you can carry off some colour and pattern if you find something you like.

Our bathroom has 70s tiles, mould on the ceiling, the weakest shower in the world, a DISGUSTING, broken toilet and a chunk gouged out of the door. I can't see us ever affording to do it up!

Looking at the pics again, I don't think it's the wall colour per se (although it is a bit dated) I think it's the wall colour and the flooring - they don't match. The flooring is quite dark and heavy for the walls. I really think once you get a colour that goes with the floor, rather than just with the white, it will be much better. Also second that a nice blind will help.

As it is I don't rate the tiles, they look a bit bland. But put a statement colour on the walls and I think it'll wake it up.

Love the size! Sure it will look nice with some finishing touches and new paint colour

It just looks a bit unfinished, maybe you need a colour on the walls to tie it all in together & a nice patterned blind at the window?
