Name changed as outing.

We have saved so hard for this new bathroom. We have reconfigured it and had everything new. Stripped to bare brick.

I really don't like it :-(

We still want to put a shelf up behind the toilet with some nice things on, and a towel storer where 3 towels will be rolled up at once in there.

Please be honest. Be as brutal as needed. I want to change the paint I think but no idea what to. We need to get a blind. What else can I do to make this the dream bathroom I envisaged Blush

@iamnotawitch our hands were tied really with the toilet as it had to go on that wall or the window wall

I would have put it on the window wall in the right hand corner as you look at the window
Would have been facing the door but sink would have hidden it

cavycavy · 20/02/2019 20:52

It’s lush! You can ring the changes with blinds and accessories

Just imagine if you’d tiled your bathroom, the walls and the floor with entirely grey tiles. That’s what we did 2 years ago. Hugely expensive to do in the first place (like you stepped right back to bare brick and replastered). I have hated the grey ever since. But it will be so expensive to change that I’m stuck with it until we move or until I die.

Your bathroom is exactly what I want (except that we need a bath for the sprog).

Sandieloo · 20/02/2019 20:52

I would have gone with black tiles on wall and floor to break up the white. But a nice big bath mat and some modern art will make it more yours. I love your bath and sink, well done.

NicoAndTheNiners · 20/02/2019 20:52

If you didn't want to go for a shutter for the window you could have a wooden bamboo blind. I have one in my bathroom and think it looks nice.

It's wooden horizontal slats rather than a more solid, thin bamboo type roller blind. But it does still roll up.

kateandme · 20/02/2019 20:53

get a fake plant like an orchid or something or a bunch of freeschias
light some candles one night and see it in the candle light.things look nice in lovely candle light.

cavycavy · 20/02/2019 20:53

*stripped right back

cavycavy · 20/02/2019 20:56

Oh you do have a bath!! It’s lovely, really! Enjoy making it look more ‘you’ with accessories.

I love Scion and Orla Keily style/colours. But you could literally do anything.

zod1ac19 · 20/02/2019 20:56

I think it’s lovely and the floor is too.

For me the only problem is the mismatch in tone between the walls and tiles as other pps have said.

Don’t be downhearted, it is a lovey bathroom that is 95% there.

Wakk · 20/02/2019 20:59

Terracotta won't go well with the floor imo, and I think the floor and tiles don't go.

Big green plants and dark towels would be my suggestion, after painting the walls in a less creamy colour

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 20/02/2019 21:00

Just used the dulux app and made the walls white and I already prefer it Grin tried to experiment with other colours but its a shit app to use. But the change in paint is definately a starting point

Thanks for all the people who have been lovely and said nice things too by the way

It's lovely!

seven201 · 20/02/2019 21:03

Already looks better with the paint app. Please don't feel bad about your new bathroom. When you've finished you'll love it.

JessicaCH · 20/02/2019 21:03

I really like it!

IAmNotAWitch · 20/02/2019 21:04

Yep, much better in white and I agree with the plant suggestion perhaps between the shower and the toilet?

Would give a bit more privacy for the toilet. I do like a 'cosy' toilet. Grin

MummyMummy01 · 20/02/2019 21:04

Not read all comments but I think it would look lush with some grey on 2/3 walls and a contrast or white on another. Lots of color from blinds towels wall art would finish you off to tee. Looks a lovely job though

Keewee27 · 20/02/2019 21:05

Very envious too! It's lovely OP. I wish my bathroom was half as nice. It just needs some more colour and maybe some patterned tiles. There needs to be something on the floor too - nice fluffy bath mats by the bath and shower maybe.

TheBossOfMe · 20/02/2019 21:08

Tile all the way up the bath wall. That will immediately make it look better. It looks really odd the way it is now.

Muddysnowdrop · 20/02/2019 21:08

That is SO much nicer

ostinato · 20/02/2019 21:09

I would do something like this...

badg3r · 20/02/2019 21:11

Yes yes to white walls, pure white! And something like a String shelf on the wall with the loo on near the bath to fill the space (except not eyewateringly expensive!), you can have done trailing plants on it and nice vases etc. Get a nice round rug/bath mat with bold colours and a bit of pattern for the middle of the floor. Maybe a nice woven washing basket to add texture? The walls need to change but everything else can be dressed nicely and it will be fab. It's just not finished yet.

zod1ac19 · 20/02/2019 21:12

Yes the white walls on the app make it soooo much better Smile

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 20/02/2019 21:12

@ostinato thanks! I appreciate you doing that!

What did you use to do that, love the fact u put a blind on!

Jojobythesea · 20/02/2019 21:12

Ooooo. Yeah. Lovely. I agree with some plants. Green it up a bit. Couple of pretty tea lights on the window sill when you have a bath. I think it's lovely. Very calming. Smile

Canyoutellwhoiamyet · 20/02/2019 21:14

@basg3r they are nice ideas, thanks. I'm feeling a lot more confident with this now! I can turn it around I just need to pay someone with more vision than me Grin
