Me

DramaAlpaca · 17/02/2019 02:42

Me! I'm a night owl.

goodolddaze · 17/02/2019 02:43

I’ve been asleep but sitting next to my 2 year old now who likes to sleep holding my hand 😴

Flyingfish2019 · 17/02/2019 02:43

I love your name, dramaalpaca. Does it have a backstory?

Pillowaddict · 17/02/2019 02:44

Me...in a bit of pain due to surgery from a few weeks ago, and just generally sleep avoidant!! What's keeping you up?

HalfBloodPrincess · 17/02/2019 02:44

Me. Not by choice. 18 month old he decided to I’ve a one man party and is currently jumping on my bed on his knees making more noise than an elephant

Howdoidothis4eva · 17/02/2019 02:45

Me too.

AJPTaylor · 17/02/2019 02:47

Me! Chronic sore throat. Just taken paracetamol codeine and ibuprofen. In the spare room.

Dillyson · 17/02/2019 02:48

DH and DS have just gone on holiday. I'm here alone, hurrah!

VforVienetta · 17/02/2019 02:49

Me, unwillingly for once.
In A&E with DS, It was suspected appendicitis, but they've ruled that out so now we're waiting for blood test results. He's finally fallen asleep, and now they want a pee pot filled! Argh.

Flyingfish2019 · 17/02/2019 02:49

I have been asleep too @goodolddaze but my 4yo old woke me... so yes, maybe it is not “still awake“ but “awake again“ to use the correct language.

Do you know what I what I wonder about? How did people cope in former times... when they had not 3 or 4 or 5 children but 12 and where working down the mines 16 hours a day? They must have felt just so tired all of the time did they just tell their children to never wake them (and how did they do it?)?

Me.

Had a shocking few days and now DD is sat in a&e with awful stomach pains with DH. Waiting for news. He keeps telling me to go to bed but I won't sleep.

Doesn't help that I have had about 2 hours since Thursday as DS was hospitalised Friday night with suicidal thoughts and I had a camp bed next to his hospital bed last night x

DramaAlpaca · 17/02/2019 02:50

Yes Flyingfish. My DS, who was about three or four at the time, was having a bit of a tantrum about nothing in particular. So to distract him I told him to stop being a drama llama. He stopped mid tantrum, stamped his little foot & announced 'I'm not a drama llama, I'm a drama alpaca!' Grin

cricketmum84 · 17/02/2019 02:50

@VforVienetta that's exactly where DH is at the moment with DD. We are thinking possible appendicitis or sever UTI but she could barely stand for the stomach pain earlier. Fingers crossed for good news and not too long a wait for you xx

VeniVidiViciTwice · 17/02/2019 02:52

Me, I was asleep until my youngest (just turned 4) decided she needed a drink and is currently laying next to me playing with my hair. I am hoping she will fall back asleep soon but history indicates we will be up until probably 5ish 😭

AnxietyDream · 17/02/2019 02:52

Me. I've had 2 hrs sleep, but I'm heavily pregnant feeling sick and having stomach pains and can't lie down without wanting to be sick.

Mumsnet reading is just about working as a distraction!

DramaAlpaca · 17/02/2019 02:52

cricketmum cross posted with you. Sending best wishes that everything is OK.

VforVienetta · 17/02/2019 02:54

Sympathies on all counts cricket , that's rough.
We think UTI too.

Merryoldgoat · 17/02/2019 02:56

I’m up too. 1yo woke up for milk and is being utterly painful 😖

Flyingfish2019 · 17/02/2019 03:00

Lol, I love that backstory @dramaalpaca

ribblerobble · 17/02/2019 03:03

I've been asleep but woken about this time every night recently. I think I got too used to DD waking up so body expects to be up 😩

Flyingfish2019 · 17/02/2019 03:03

Any of you already planing food for Monday? (We will have ghoulish on Sunday but no idea about Monday yet)

OP posts:
Wineandchoccy · 17/02/2019 03:04

I’m up I’m being induced at 11am so really should be sleeping but I’m wide awake worrying about it Sad I was induced last time so know what to expect.

Acidrain · 17/02/2019 03:10

Me after DS being up all last night with vomiting, it's my turn tonight

DramaAlpaca · 17/02/2019 03:10

Good luck for tomorrow Wineandchoccy, how exciting. Try to get some sleep if you can.

I love how there's always someone about on MN, even in the middle of the night. And now I think I'll head to bed. DS, the inspiration for my username, is now 21 (how did that happen Shock) and is also still up. He's inherited my night owl tendencies Grin
