Ok. Anyone know the answer to this riddle? Can't find on google.

Anyone any ideas? From a friend who can be a wind up merchant!

I am sad with sound but sweet on the nose, can take you places, and have multiple babies.

Boswell?

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 00:46

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 00:47

Donkey

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 01:06

Not Donkey.

I suggested Scream - like the painting of the scream is sad and you hear it, and you scream on a rollercoaster and it takes you places. I just ignored the babies bit. But, nope not that either.

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 01:15

It's got nothing to do with Boswell Grin He doesn't know what mumsnet is so you're all safe.

None of the answers so far. We're on WhatsApp in a group and I'm using you all as ammunition!

Is the answer simply the letter s? Multiple being the big clue

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 01:16

@Singletomingle

He says it's one word that applies equally to all parts of the riddle

Maternity ward

finnmcool · 17/02/2019 01:18

Snort? Can be a sad sound. Some would say coke is sweet on the nose.
Snort in IT could take you places and multiply ports?

Jux · 17/02/2019 01:18

(What's Boswell? - apart from the guy who wrote Johnson's biography, or the department store.)

MildlyMiserable · 17/02/2019 01:19

Oops - two words

KickAssAngel · 17/02/2019 01:19

Whine/wine - a sad sound, wine smells good, can 'take you places' - out of your head, and there must be many children conceived after a drink or two.

A bit tenuous but just about fits.

Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 01:20

@finnmcool

That's brilliant, copied your explanation but he says no.

OP posts:
Putitdownnow · 17/02/2019 01:21

Not wine.

He's going to bed in 10 minutes and will tell me then if I don't get it.

OP posts:
MontyPants · 17/02/2019 01:22

Stork?

JaneJeffer · 17/02/2019 01:23

Jux trust me you don't want to know Grin

AdaColeman · 17/02/2019 01:23

The wind, can sound sad, can be a scented breeze, can blow ships across the sea, and can have gusts and flurries as babies.
