I am totally with you on this OP.
I eat really healthily just like you...homemade soups/lots of veg/lean protein, salmon, eggs - adding in 4 miles of swimming plus yoga and walking every week, but never losing weight, in-fact having no energy to complete the fitness, sort of crashing half way through a swim session and just feeling weak doing say 3 hours of exercise on an empty stomach and one healthy meal a day (But still obese).
My body just won’t give up energy/fat in response to heavy exercise.
It seems I wasn’t actually eating enough.
So I am doing a 12 week Slimming World trial, using it as a means of learning and re-educating myself going forwards.
But as part of the plan I feel I am adding in all sorts of things that seem alien and counter intuitive, but are on the SW plan nonetheless (cans of tinned mushy peas) - and it is actually working!
I was alarmed that I was being “pushed” by SW towards lots of foods that I had spent 2 decades removing from my diet: non-natural processed foods, foods with additives, and yes, fizzy drinks, sweetend yogurt and so on.
Basically I am just making a list of good natural foods and healthy meals that I like and researching how they will fit into the plan - or not.
Astonishingly, I just tried a sample in class today where someone “made” the fake Ferrero Rochers (Nutella mixed with crushed Ryvita), I don’t like chocolate, but despite my scepticism, I would say these tasted better than the real thing. How weird.
Happy with weight loss so far and will carry on and see how it goes (in between the all-inclusive hotel visits with the unlimited coconut ice cream and mojito cocktails 😎 )
I’m being kind of light hearted too!
