Mscandylamb · 13/02/2019 19:56

Nothing. Poor me... But I am pregnant and nearly due so whoopeeeee lol

Last year however I went on a date and to a meetup event all at the same time. It was fun... But sadly no relationship came out of it.

Bokky · 13/02/2019 20:00

Another teacher at parents evening here too. DH is working away so just me and DD (9) when I get home so I imagine we will snuggle up and watch some tv or maybe get a film started before she goes to bed.

ceecee32 · 13/02/2019 20:02

Mostly I will be trying not to cry.
Split up a few months ago and his new lady has done the 'in a relationship' thing on FB this weekend.

poundoflard · 13/02/2019 20:07

Having a smear.
I wasn't expecting anyone looking at my fanny this valentines as i left my H last year, certainly didn't think I'd be legs akimbo for this one.
All good stuff tho and HAS TO BE DONE ladies.

Pinkprincess1978 · 13/02/2019 20:08

Tomorrow is a normal day, DH and I are having a meal at home on Saturday, last year we let the kids eat with us and they spoiled it so this year they are having a pizza in the living room while we have a nice meal together.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 13/02/2019 20:18

Going out for a meal as both off work tomorrow. Maybe spot of shopping first.

I got a bouquet delivered today made of cupcakes! Most pleased with that 😋

Busybusybust · 13/02/2019 20:19

I’m cooking a big meal for my 6 good friends all of whom are widows/abandoned women. We shall have a good gossip and laugh a lot!

GrandTheftWalrus · 13/02/2019 20:26

I'm working 3pm till 11pm so not even able to get dinner. But we dont usually bother with it as payday is the 15th.

MsMustDoBetter · 13/02/2019 20:26

I'll be silently seething with disappointment and DH will be as bewildered as ever.

To be fair he doesn't do romance and I'm thinking about not doing sex anymore.

I'm grumpy tonight, can you tell?

Autumnchill · 13/02/2019 20:27

Off to watch Radio 4 The News Quiz being recorded at the BBC 😊

mydogisthebest · 13/02/2019 20:57

My DH is taking the day off work. We are going out for the day and going for a meal in a great indian restaurant that serves delicious vegetarian food.

I have bought a card for DH and know he will have bought one for me cos he always does. I have also bought him a top.

We have been married 39 years and have always celebrated Valentines. Sometimes we have a meal out, sometimes a meal at home, sometimes we go away for the night or couple of nights. We almost always have taken the day off work to go out for the day.

I get that not everyone celebrates it but I do hate the sneering "we don't need to be told when to show our love". Well never do we and we show each other that we love and respect them every day. We quite often buy the other a surprise present or a nice card or book a surprise night out or night or few nights away

runninguphills · 13/02/2019 22:19

I'm having a smear test. Otherwise, it's a normal day.

tor8181 · 13/02/2019 22:59

a disco/low key party with the 8 y old with a disability group we attend

after nearly 20 years together, being with each other 24 hours and loking after 2 disabled home educated kids that need 24 hour care each valentins dont mean shit tbh

he buys me flowers regularly, giant bars of chocolate so we dont buy in to the valentines hype

Peregrane · 13/02/2019 23:02

@blimdsighted just wanted to say that is wonderful - stay strong and all the very best with the pregnancy and the birth! May you and your DC find ever deeper joy in each other.

SavageBeauty73 · 13/02/2019 23:06

I'm single and given up on online dating as it's horrendous. I'll be watching a film with my teenagers and nice food. Bliss.

SmarmyMrMime · 13/02/2019 23:07

Fuck all. DH has been ill over a week. I'll be leading a Valentines craft activity with a youth group, then coming back home for our usual supermarket pizza as he has no appetite. I can't see DH being in a fit state to leave the house for the first time in over a week and he's very unkissable with a giant coldsore.

Normally it would be flowers and chocolates. I've got a nice little box of chocolates between us. I didn't see the point in getting anything more extravagent.

Bloodybridget · 13/02/2019 23:18

We always do cards for each other, I've made one which I know DP will really enjoy so I'm looking forward to seeing her open it! And I remembered we have croissants in the freezer so I'm going to get up a bit earlier than usual to bake them. We're having a roast for dinner. Never go out to eat on 14th Feb after a ghastly evening years ago when we were the only same sex couple in a restaurant.

EastEndQueen · 13/02/2019 23:36

Going out for dinner to a local Italian with 0% subtlety (rose and red balloon for every ‘lady’Grin)

Have bought DH some nice chocolates and hoping for flowers. We usually cook a special meal at home but i’m being induced on Saturday and our nanny was horrified that we wouldn’t take the opportunity for a last night out for a while and insisted on babysitting DS.

I’m excited tbh, i’m not cool and I love valentines/ Halloween dressing up/ Christmas/ everything - it brightens up the day to day IMO

EastEndQueen · 13/02/2019 23:38

I am having a sweep in the morning and am slightly crippled with PGP so may not be much sexy action but I will enjoy holding hands and slowly sipping a mini glass of champagne....

MrsCollinssettled · 13/02/2019 23:47

Having female friends over (leaving DHs behind). Cake will be consumed, upcoming social event will be planned.

WindsfromtheNE · 13/02/2019 23:49

Nothing, much as I love DH, I really couldn't be less interested in valentine's Day.

Monkey500 · 13/02/2019 23:50

Celebrating a major birthday!

Confuzzlediddled · 13/02/2019 23:53

Dh and ds are going out to see professor Brian Cox, so DD and I are having a movie night!

GreatWesternValkyrie · 14/02/2019 00:01

My husband will be entertained by male colleagues going into panic mode at about 5pm as they get ready to swarm to the nearest shop for a glittery card and the last bunch of slightly dog eared roses. He’s exempt and likes to share that with them!

I will tut at the florist outside the station whose prices have doubled overnight and eyeball the shops displaying horrific teddies holding padded lovehearts, thankful that one of the little monstrosities will never make it over my threshold!

We may go the whole hog and put on a movie with extra gore and guns!

We’re such a pair of romantics 😆

Having a smear. I wasn’t expecting anyone looking at my fanny this valentines..

Excellent Poundoflard! At least you won’t be expected to reciprocate!

PearlHeart3 · 14/02/2019 00:03

I'll be at university all day but then seeing my boyfriend in the evening. We're having a meal at home. I made him a little hamper with all his favourite snacks, drinks and treats in. He always said the way to his heart is through his stomach.
