Aibu to be over invested in the fact that she's up for a Grammy tonight?
Watched A Star is Born recently and all the songs were filmed live, she was brilliant in it,as was Bradley Cooper.Any one else a fan of that film?

It was great. I love her anyway. She's insanely talented.

Youknowmedontyou · 09/02/2019 16:45

Loved it!

MistyMinge · 09/02/2019 16:48

I loved the film. I'd feel sorry for her if she misses out again. She was great in it, as was Bradley.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 09/02/2019 16:48

Bradley Cooper really played the guitar too,he could play bass guitar but learnt the type in the film in 6 months

She's an extremely talented lady and her performance in the film blew me away. I loved her before the movie and appreciated her so much more after it.

Nothininmenoggin · 09/02/2019 17:00

Jeez I still haven't seen the film yet!! I love her voice though and she is obviously very talented. Hope she wins her Grammy.

PinkBuffalo · 09/02/2019 17:06

I haven't seen the film, but years ago accidentally caught a live performance that was being shown on TV & I was blown away by what an amazing performer she was! I hadn't expected it.
She is super talented!

rockingthelook · 09/02/2019 17:21

I loved her in the film, but get the impression, I may be wrong, that she was a nicer character in the film than in real life?

Seniorcitizen1 · 09/02/2019 17:32

There has been 4 versions of SiB - the new one is my least favourite. I couldn’t care less what awards it wins or doesn't - no interest in these “awards” evenings

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 09/02/2019 17:40

Awards are to acknowledge talent.I think they can be a good thing

I think there's more talent in my dogs' little toe than in lady gaga.

Bluelady · 09/02/2019 17:49

She was on the Graham Norton show a while back with June Brown (the 90 odd year old actress) and the rapport between them was a joy to watch. She came across as a lovely person as well as incredibly talented.

NashvilleQueen · 09/02/2019 17:51

Have you watched her acoustic version of Poker Face on Radio 1 Live Lounge? She’s bonkers and quirky and incredibly talented. I think she’s amazing.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 09/02/2019 17:53

I didn’t particularly rate her before I saw ASiB but I absolutely loved her and Bradley Cooper and the film was brilliant. I hope they both get an award.

I have seen three out of the four versions and they are all quite different because they cover issues pertinent to the age in which the film was made.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 09/02/2019 17:54

I think there's more talent in my dogs' little toe than in lady gaga.

I don't understand comments like this. I mean by all means say she's not your cup of tea or that you prefer others but how the fuck can you say she has no talent?

I don't rate her too highly and she wouldn't be my first choice of someone to listen to but she clearly has talent and to state otherwise just makes you look bloody stupid.

Isth · 09/02/2019 17:55

She’s so incredibly talented but comes across as such a complete arsehole as a person. I’m conflicted 😂

hammeringinmyhead · 09/02/2019 17:58

I'd love her to win the Oscar!

TeaAddict235 · 09/02/2019 18:00

They say that in every true genius there is a bit of madness, and I agree. But i wish that she wouldn't behave like a lunatic, she puts it on. I think that she still needs time to come into her own skin and be comfortable.

Heronymous · 09/02/2019 18:02

I thought the Grammys were monday?

I love Lady Gaga ❤️ But Brandi Carlile has been my favourite musical artist for absolutely years and it would mean everything to me to see her win.

Reastie · 09/02/2019 18:02

I saw a docu on her on Netflix last week and knew nothing about her or her songs but she was brilliant. Very talented and very driven yet also vulnerable and very emotional.

CatinMyLap · 09/02/2019 18:05

Ah I hate seeing assumptions about Gaga IRL

She’s defo a sweetheart in real life, I’ve met her a few times and she has time for everyone. She’s a little lady, a little shy actually, but when you speak to her she looks you dead in the eye and makes you feel the only person in the room.

She deserves the Grammy, she works her socks off

roundtable · 09/02/2019 18:06

She was a successful songwriter before she started singing her songs but no - she has no talent. Piece of piss writing chart topping songs I hear. Hmm

I haven't seen it yet - I would really like to. I don't know who else is up for the Grammy either to decide who I'd like to win.

AGHHHH · 09/02/2019 18:30

@Eliza9917 must be a bloody talented dog!

Feel free to not like her but don't be a dick. Did you see her Sound of Music tribute? If you think she has no talent after seeing then there is no hope for you.

She writes all her own music, is a trained pianist, is classically vocally trained and can sing multiple styles of music, has done a jazz album and tour with Tony Bennett and is one of the most successful artists out there.

I imagine you're judging her off the few mainstream pop songs you've heard on the radio.

VanillaSauce · 09/02/2019 18:33

You cannot say she has no talent. She has a tremendous voice but her music and songwriting is awful.

AGHHHH · 09/02/2019 18:36

@VanillaSauce are you referring to her singles or have you listened to her albums in full? If it's the singles that weren't to your taste, I recommend listening to her last album Joanne. It's nothing like her typical pop stuff, a lot more mature and singer-songwriter. Smile
