To be offended about being called middle aged

A colleague and I were talking about weekend plans. I told them my plans that I was just going to relax at home over the weekend. He responded with that's what life tends to be like when you are middle aged. I only turned 30 in October while I know I'm not young I'm surely not middle aged just yet?

Depends how you look at it doesnt it?

Say you went on a cruise and went to three places for three days each. The three day at the second place.woukd be the middle place.

0-30 young
30-60 middle
60-90 old
90-120 ancient
120-150 vampire lord.

I decided to embrace the term middle aged, rather than resist.
I am 47, and love Radio 4, paper newspapers, Aldi!

Saves the stress if you just let it happen :)

My DM discarded an item of clothing as she felt it made her look middle aged. She was in her seventies at the time.

My colleague is 64 and keeps describing herself as 'middle aged', until I said, 'what, are you going to live to 128?' I don't think you need to define yourself as middle-aged, elderly or old, but to think you are only half way through your life at 64 is ridiculous.

We tell our 15 year old dd she's middle aged as she likes to snuggle up and watch Midsomer, dresses old fashioned, and gets on best with old people. Grin

I think being offended at being called middle aged at 30 will age you more than me
