He thinks I shouldn't have woken him to answer the door as he works (I'm a SAHM).

I thought he should have as it could have been an axe murderer at that time (actually terrified it was the police saying something had happened DD who was on a night out).

It was actually DD as she'd forgotten her key!

So who was BU (obviously DD was the most)

If it was an axe murderer then the person with the best death-in-service of life policy answers the door

I agree stevie i missed this earlier

Deffo dh then...his life insurance is awesome

Hmmmm...where would one obtain a polite axe murderer, just musing you understand

OK, if it was an axe murderer..why shouldn't you answer the door, why is it a mans job exactly? Are you just more important? You want the door answered, you answer it ( or call the police which is what I would do )

Either way its as much your job as his.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 09/02/2019 14:37

Are you just more important

Yes

Plus life insurance

I would miss him though

I will stay under the duvet which everyone knows has protective powers over axe murderers, serial killers etc

Just wondering what some of the posters on here would do if, like I did, they lived with their teen/twenties DCs without a partner and something like this happened?

Would they lie trembling in bed until someone came and rescued them or get up and shout through the door to find out who's there like a grown up.

TM has decreed that there are Boys' Jobs and Girls' Jobs. Answering the door at 3 in the morning is a Boy's Job. It's the courteous and gentlemanly thing to do. Likewise getting shopping or meeting someone at the airport. Is DH not a gentleman, OP? LTB!
Danners you've wandered off on a frolic of your own.

Your kidding right? Answering the door is a boys job?

Weezol · 10/02/2019 00:59

There is only me. I have a spy hole. If that was obscured, I would use by best and lovliest lady voice to shout "THIS HAD BETTER BE A FUCKING EMERGENCY, IT'S THREE IN THE BLOODY MORNING!"

Mind you, my grandma threw a burglar out of her house when she was well in her seventies. Then she had a fag and went back to sleep.
