To be annoyed by foot talcing?

Passthegin99 · 06/02/2019 17:44

Ok so DP talcs his feet every morning before putting his socks on (I believe he dies this by putting talc directly into the socks but regardless talc goes all over the floor! Bedroom, bathroom, landing, it makes no difference where he does it - the upshot is a small dusty patch. It really annoys me! Am I being unreasonable and even if I am, what can I do about it?! I need suggestions!

Hand him a dust buster each time?

pizzabadger · 06/02/2019 18:14

Liquid talc? Asda does it.

CherryValance · 06/02/2019 18:16

Think yourself lucky - it's ball talc in my bathroom! Bane of my life Grin

Stayawayfromitsmouth · 06/02/2019 18:18

Point him to the research about talcum powder usage causing cancer.

Poshjock · 06/02/2019 18:20

Is he ex-military?

burritofan · 06/02/2019 18:23

Oh god, mine too. Brand-new bathroom floor and bathmat look like a mad 80s coke party. He claims it's the only way to dry his feet, as if THE TOWEL has not been invented. Might make him do it outside on the patio.

YouCanCallMeJodieWho · 06/02/2019 18:23

Make him clear it up. Every day, as he does it.

The link between talc and cancer is not proven. This link has a good summary.

TheFaerieQueene · 06/02/2019 18:26

I thought talc went the way of the dinosaurs.

iklboo · 06/02/2019 18:28

You're lucky it's his feet. Ex-p used to talc his balls then sit on my side of the bed to get dressed.

Slowtrain2dawn · 06/02/2019 18:28

Why not just put a towel down on floor and talc away? Pretty inconsiderate.

TheFirstRuleOfFightClub · 06/02/2019 18:29

Tell him to put a towel down and do it on there. I talc my feet every morning after my shower, I get athletes foot if I don't as I can't dry inbetween my toes properly otherwise (also under my boobs).

But no, YANBU. I also get the ball talc circle in the bathroom.

WhiteDust · 06/02/2019 18:33

He needs a talc puff. He also needs to put a towel down.

Ball talc 😂

Ask him to rub it in properly before putting his socks on.

NigelGresley · 06/02/2019 18:39

Talc on bollocks? Well I’ve learnt something new today GrinGrin

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 06/02/2019 18:40

Ball talc?!

Fairylea · 06/02/2019 18:41

Ball talc....! ShockGrin Don’t they end up looking like dough balls...

laramara · 06/02/2019 18:41

What gets me is people who use talc in the changing rooms at the gym leaving it on the floor, so annoying!

tablelegs · 06/02/2019 18:42

My dad does this. I thought he was the only one who did this. Talc footprints everywhere and a talc outline of his feet in the bathroom every morning when I was growing up.

JennyOnAPlate · 06/02/2019 18:44

My dad has recently stopped doing this. It's taken my mum 40 years to convince him that he could just use a towel like normal people.

Tiredbadger · 06/02/2019 18:45

@Fairylea I don't think I'll ever look at dough balls the same way again Grin

Catmum26 · 06/02/2019 18:45

i could have written this. my husband is also partial to a bit of ball talcing. i’ve lost count the amount of times i’ve almost slipped over in the bathroom because of his talc snowstorm

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 06/02/2019 18:50

I use talc/foot powder in my running/gym socks. I’m prone to fungal infections (sorry), the foot powder helps to prevent it. I don’t leave ‘sprinklings’ though.

iklboo · 06/02/2019 18:50

Ball talc....! Don’t they end up looking like dough balls...

Yes - the miniature ones 😄. It was actually one of his less annoying habits. Don't miss it though!

StandUpForYourRights · 06/02/2019 18:50

😂😂 great thread.

I also won't look at dough balls in the same way ever again.

HazelBite · 06/02/2019 18:57

Best way to keep feet athletes foot free is to dry carefully then apply Boots anti fungal and anti bacterial cream to feet.
Much less messy.
