Is this worth it? is it painful? do you regret it? Any info anyone could give me would be much appreciated! It's very expensive so I don't want to make a mistake! AIBU to be considering it?

I was just about to post something similar, as I am considering it too.

It may be worth asking for this to be moved to style and beauty though, rather than AIBU

I've had mine done and I'm happy with them. It wasn't painful as the area is numbed initially. I would research and research some more, look at previous work done etc. Be very clear on what you want and don't be afraid on being firm - this is, after-all, a tattoo on your face! As with anything there is a risk it could go wrong and look awful but the confidence it has given me and time saved in the morning has been worth it.

birdladyfromhomealone · 06/02/2019 13:43

i had mine done a year ago and had the top up after a couple of months.
No regrets at all.
they look amazing, great shape and equal too, i had one higher than the other and were too thin from over waxing. they now have a great bulb by the nose end that i never had before.
painful yes but I took painkillers during, then after they scab as it is a tattoo but used the cream and didn't touch the scabs.
they need retouching yearly but after 9 months mine are still amazing.
i dont even have them waxed any more just tinted every couple of months.

Christmastree43 · 06/02/2019 13:45

They look ridiculous/ chavvy, make sure you’re part of a circle that likes that look if you go for it

MotherFeeder · 06/02/2019 13:47

I've also had mine done and they're amazing. Mine were over plucked and one was higher than the other. Now people comment how fantastic my eyebrows are.

I agree - do your research before you go ahead and make sure you are 100% happy.
They do start off darker and then settle.

birdladyfromhomealone · 06/02/2019 13:49

Christmastree43
REALLY???
I'M A MIDDLE AGED WOMEN , HARDLY A CHAV!!
OP
Take no notice, mine are normal sized but perfectly symmetrical after years of over waxing. they are not slugs unless you want slugs.

Houseonahill · 06/02/2019 13:52

Won't you look like Alistair darling when you're old?

LuckyAmy1986 · 06/02/2019 13:58

Won't you look like Alistair darling when you're old?

I mean, if I had them done when I am old and had white/silver hair and went for a black thick brow then yes, probably....

Not looking for slugs, there is a lady near here who is very popular, they look so natural, not overdone at all. I don't wear make up, or maybe 3 times a year so in my case it really would need to be natural looking otherwise I would look very strange!
Oh and no, I'm not in the slightest chavvy, not sure what that has to do with it though!

@Christmastree43 microblading actually looks like real hair - unlike tattoos which look terrible and heavy.

Ollivander84 · 06/02/2019 14:05

These are mine, done with micropigmentation

Helen Mirren isn't chavvy! You don't have to go for the thick black slug look. I had mine done a few years ago (I'm in my mid-40s). I asked for a very natural look which I got - to the extent that you can barely tell they've been done. I'm going next month to get them re-done in a slightly more defined way.

birdladyfromhomealone · 06/02/2019 14:10

Do mine look chavvy?
They look like normal eyebrows when I had one higher than the other and next to no shape.

Do they fade like the semi permanent eyeliner?

LuckyAmy1986 · 06/02/2019 14:14

birdladyfromhomealone SO chavvy! (NOT) They look fantastic, you would never know they had been done.

Ollivander84 yours also look amazing, as does your skin!

lerrimknowyouretheyir · 06/02/2019 14:16

I've had it done. Not particularly painful. Very natural looking, which is the point. Very little maintenance. Mine had become very thin due to years of over plucking, now they are just a bit thicker and I think they look great. I'd recommend it.

Christmastree43 · 06/02/2019 14:25

Bird lady yes they look heavy, blocky and unnatural.

Ollivander let’s see you in natural lighting and not in your perfect selfie

Christmastree43 · 06/02/2019 14:27

The problem is most people don’t pay what helen mirren pays, they pay some bandwagon Mum who’s had a day’s training and will hop onto the next badly executed fad in a few months time... see also lash extensions, Botox and fillers

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 06/02/2019 14:31

Don't use the word CHAV, it's demonisation of the working classes. Don't buy into this Oxbridge written class foolishness.

I think tattoo eyebrows are a bit dating. Like tattoos, they all look nice at the time, until you look at photos. Eyebrow powder/ pencils look nice. It might work on some, but I wouldn't do it. Botox and filler yes, but microblading no

Scottishlassie81 · 06/02/2019 14:42

I would love microblading. I have been scared it would all wrong and it's permanent. Your stories have reassured me.

BlancheM · 06/02/2019 14:54

I know people who are thrilled with theirs but I think the brows are aging and never natural. It depends what you're after but don't be fooled by the 'realistic hairstrokes', they look like what they are: drawn on straight lines.

pinkhorse · 06/02/2019 15:02

They don't look great in real life imo.

littlepeas · 06/02/2019 15:07

I had mine done 2 years ago and they’ve faded to nothing now. I’m not going to bother again - they looked fine, very natural and at all not chavvy, but it didn’t make enough of a difference for me to go through all the faff of having them done again. It IS a faff and you look extremely daft while they are healing. I don’t know how to emphasise that I am not a ‘chav’ without looking like a dick.

Scottishlassie81 · 06/02/2019 15:26

Everyone's pictures I have seen in the thread look great and I don't think any one is a chav at all :-).

It's the folk I see at the make-up counters in boots with the big drawn on slugs. How can they not see how awful they are? I had to walk away last time cause I couldn't keep a straight face!!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 06/02/2019 15:33

Gosh Christmastree43 are you having a bad day?
