To ask about microblading/semi permanent eyebrows?

Hi all

For the past year or so I have quite fancied having my eyebrows done..... I’m absolutely useless at plucking them, I can never get the shapes right and usually one looks thicker than the other etc.....

Has anyone had this done? Does it hurt? How long does it take? Any regrets?

Thanks x

I had my eyebrows tattooed a couple of years ago - desperately need them redone as the pigment has now all but gone.

It didn’t actually hurt at all, just a slight scraping which got a bit uncomfortable when the woman was going over the same bit a few times.

Following with interest now before I book up again to have them done.

I’ve been advised I now can’t get microblading as most wont microblade over previously tattooed brows.

BifsWif · 05/02/2019 19:10

I had ombré brows, which is microblading with some shading so they look more natural.

Mine took 3 hours for my first appointment but she was very thorough and drew them first to make sure I was happy. No regrets at all I love them!

Hi I had mine done a few months ago and I wish I’d done it sooner!
I had very sparse thin brows and had to draw them on every day. Hated it!
So I researched semi permanent makeup and found a girl who had fantastic reviews.
I had a consultation before booking anything, and could take as long as I needed to think about it. Then when I decided, I had a sensitivity test done, similar to hair dye test.
48 hours later I had my treatment.
She drew the shape first and checked I was happy, then numbed my skin with cream.
I honestly didn’t feel pain at all. Maybe a slight bit of discomfort at the start, but you get used to the feeling quickly.
Took just over an hour to do.
Then you go back 4-6 weeks later for a retouch once the colour has settled. This is where the tattoo scabs slightly and flakes off. It’s not sore. The retouch is exactly the same as the first appointment except the shape is already there.
No regrets at all,I’m so happy, anda lot more confident. I’ll see if I can post my before and after pics.

I don’t want to be dramatic but having my eyebrows microbalded was the best thing I’ve ever done in my life

Think it should be attached! This isn’t microblading, it’s powder/combi brows. Honestly love them. Go for it!

I’ve had mine microblades- wish I’d had it done a long time ago. I had sparse eyebrows from years of over plucking.
It hurt a little when it was being done, but nothing to bad. Research lots of places first!

Auramigraine · 05/02/2019 19:19

NC for this. These are mine, they did hurt a bit but it wasn’t unbareable. The colour settled down so they don’t look as dark. I love them, wish I’d have done it years ago. I had the powder brows too.

I had it, I love my new brows but it hurt so badly. Now I am a massive wimp but the numbing cream didn't work at all... so be prepared that it might be painful!

Bezalelle · 05/02/2019 20:05

I had mine done in July and they're still going strong. One of the best decisions I've made in recent years. Highly recommended! Saves so much time and brow-angst.

chaoscategorised · 05/02/2019 21:17

I got mine done as my eyebrows as shit and thin (thanks, thyroid issues) and they are amazing. Totally changed my face, I love them. It does hurt though!

whatsthepointthen · 05/02/2019 21:20

Where do you find someone to do it? seen it advertised on facebook but im not sure I trust someone off fb

ClemHFandango · 05/02/2019 21:23

Love my microbladed brows so much. The best thing about them is that I can leave them as they are through the day and if I want a bit more definition I can use them as a template and just darken them. My eyebrows before we’re so flat and rubbish.

Gunpowder · 05/02/2019 21:24

Hmmm, don’t you worry that thin brows will come back in again though? I feel like eyebrows are a bit like jeans styles and there’s a big sea change every 10/15 years or so. Or does the microblading wear off eventually?

ClemHFandango · 05/02/2019 21:24

Aaargh! Were, not we’re.

whatsthepointthen · 05/02/2019 21:25

I wouldnt want thineyebrows even if they came back “in” they look awful.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 05/02/2019 21:34

Yes! Had them done 7 days ago. It did hurt at the beginning: she put on lidocaine which is meant to numb but really doesn't. She then made the first guide cuts, say 6 in each brow, which hurt quite alot, then used a different topical anaesthetic that works on broken skin, and works properly, so then no more pain. Scabs are just coming off! I went for full microblading rather than any powder or ombre as I wanted super natural didn't want them to look like I had any make up on them (I don't really wear make up most days). They're naturally very wonky and patchy. Love them.

I’m so glad of this thread! I really want them done just to fill out the eyebrows I have and darken them slightly but have been too scared!

MuncheysMummy · 05/02/2019 22:12

Dont bother with microblading just go to a REALLY good proper semi permanent makeup artist who does powder and hair stroke tattooed brows. I’ve had mine done for 5 years now they were done originally 5 years ago they lasted for 2 years then I had them topped up again then I had them another 2 years later I had them topped up again so mine last me around 2 years each time, but to be clear I like mine looking very manicured and groomed and have them done as early as my artist will do them as I hate when they even begin to fade. Realistically they could last likely 3 years plus without needing topped up.

myohmywhatawonderfulday · 05/02/2019 22:29

I had mine done...the woman who did mine was very good at the technique but she was completely strange. I said I wanted them to be thinner and she got huffy and told me she was the artist! I said - yes but I am the one who is going to be walking around with them ON MY FACE! I have to say for the money I paid her I am shocked at how dreadful her customer service was.....but my brows do look amazing!

ImogenTubbs · 05/02/2019 22:37

God, this thread makes me feel so old (and I'm not that old). I think it's nuts what women are persuaded is essential to do to their eyebrows and HD brows (is that what they're called?) to me look fake and weird. But hey, if it makes you happy - go for your life.

Princessmushroom · 05/02/2019 22:42

I had them done - they look amazing but they didn’t heal well and I’ve got scar tissue. It means that so far the professionals I’ve spoken to won’t touch them up because the colour won’t stay. They are ashy and uneven and I’ve not decided what to do about them.

It hurt so so so much. Worth it though!

LucheroTena · 05/02/2019 22:49

I also think they look fake and strange. Having said that a woman at work had hers doe and they look the most natural I’ve seen. Really good, not too dark or blocky. She researched the practitioner before to find the best though.

SalutingMagpies · 05/02/2019 22:50

I know a few people who’ve had it done and I really want mine done. The advice I’ve been given is to do your research and make sure you see examples of their work before you commit to having yours done.

Does anyone know whether you can get them done while breastfeeding?
