To ask about microblading/semi permanent eyebrows?

Hi all

For the past year or so I have quite fancied having my eyebrows done..... I’m absolutely useless at plucking them, I can never get the shapes right and usually one looks thicker than the other etc.....

Has anyone had this done? Does it hurt? How long does it take? Any regrets?

Thanks x

I think the point is they’re not dark and blocky. I don’t want them to look like I have make up on, I want them to look like I have slightly better eyebrows.

I have alopecia and have no eyebrows at all. I have been getting them tattooed for over 10 years now. Best thing I have ever done . Not convinced of the microblading style though as they seem really thick. Mine are all individual tattoo lines like feathers and it does hurt and I have the added bonus of sneezing every few strokes ConfusedConfused
Happy to recommend permanently perfect.

giggly · 05/02/2019 22:55

Can’t get tattoos when breastfeeding

Furrycushion · 05/02/2019 22:56

Saying you will never want thin eyebrows is just silly. People will want whatever is fashionable. If you had told me people wanted slugs above their eyes I would have laughed & laughed but there does seem to be a lot of it about (I do actually prefer thicker eyebrows, but some just make me gasp!)

twattymctwatterson · 05/02/2019 23:00

Thin eyebrows are hideous and really ageing . I can hand on heart say that I'll never have them. The point of microbladed eyebrows is that they just look like normal eyebrows but better. They shouldn't be like slugs

Gilead · 05/02/2019 23:07

Another one with alopecia, I’m considering henna brows first to sort of get used to the idea of not doing them daily!

whatsthepointthen · 05/02/2019 23:08

You know not everyone follows fashion right?? 😂

IchWill · 06/02/2019 00:24

Do it. One of the best cosmetics treatments I've had.

Do your research and find a reputable artist.

When you get them done, they will look dark and big, but they fade and shrink back a bit. Photo is my before and after of first time I got them done. The next time I went for a fuller brow and drarker pigment.

Clearly. Everyone had thick eyebrows when they weren't in fashion Grin

Furrycushion · 06/02/2019 10:31

PS I think weechops eyebrows look lovely.

Loubymoo27 · 06/02/2019 10:36

Had mine done a few months ago and I am so pleased with them!!! They are individual hair strokes so not blocky or dark (They will look dark to start with but heal lighter)
It did hurt a little but not unbearable and actually gets easier throughout the procedure as they can add numbing quite often.
Just do proper research and go with the right person!

Any recommendations for someone who does this in London please?

I don’t like slug eyebrows but none of the pics on this thread look sluggy. I have thyroid issues and have bits of my eyebrows missing. Bored of pencil which wears off by midday anyway.

MrsMarigold · 06/02/2019 10:48

Like ImogenTubbs this trend makes me feel old and sorry I hate it, everyone who has it done looks fierce. I prefer thin brows, dyed but microblading is so unnatural looking.

IchWill · 06/02/2019 11:16

@minipie my artist is in Milton Keynes, which is 30 mins from Euston if that's any good to you?

Look up Katie Elizabeth Permanent Cosmetics on FB to see her work. She normally had a small waiting list.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 06/02/2019 11:22

@minipie Nez Hasan is well known in London. I think her waiting list is about 9 months

minipie · 06/02/2019 11:23

Thanks IchWill, wrong direction for me really but will bear in mind...!

minipie · 06/02/2019 11:23

Thanks cheetah

Gudgyx · 06/02/2019 11:27

Not going to lie, it’s fucking agony. Had mine done about 3 years ago and they’re gone now. Too sore for me to get done again, I’ll stick to HD

NotPennysBoat · 07/02/2019 06:30

Do they eventually wear off back to nothing after a few years?

Justmemyselfandi999 · 07/02/2019 07:08

I've had mine done twice. Can highly recommend Wake up With make up in Bristol if anyone is in this area.

PearlandRubies194 · 07/02/2019 07:16

@weechops your brows look lovely and please could you tell me more about powder brows? Is a needle used? I have over plucked, fair brows that I colour every morning and I’d love to have them done. However, I have keloid skin which means any scratch or tattoo (or microblading) will result in keloid scarring.

I’d love to hear of brow treatments that don’t penetrate the skin, please

GloryforGloves · 07/02/2019 08:10

I’m not trying to come across as condescending, but have any of you over pluckers ever just tried to grow your brows out? I mean not touching them at all for 6 months of so.

I tried to grow then out for a good 3 years with no success as I kept trying removing the odd strays to stop them looking silly. I eventually ended up getting a fridge and left them well alone. It took about 5 months in total (and some time to work on getting the shaping right) but I now have full and natural eyebrows.

MaggieAndHopey · 07/02/2019 08:14

I'm really interested in getting this done but I'm a bit skint. My eyebrows have a good shape but they're a bit sparse at the edges. I'm going to start off with tinting and see how that looks first.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 07/02/2019 08:14

@GloryforGloves yep. For 3 years. Just plucking the ones that grow where no eyebrow hair should grow (why do THOSE ones never suffer from overplucking and consistently and stubbornly grow back?) and using serums. To no avail. I know it does for some.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 07/02/2019 08:15

Actually, more like 6 years. God, time flies.
