They look ok when the jewellery is in, but remove the jewellery and they are one of the most ugly things out there.

Am I unreasonable?

This is one of the life choices I would struggle most with if my DCs chose it

Like, I'd have to put up and shut up if they were over 18, but I'd be secretly very upset and saving money to have them sewn back up in a few years. Almost on par with facial tattoos. The ones in noses or mouths are worse.

I'm a hypocrite though. I started stretching mine in secret as a teen and only stopped because I was forced to. Thankfully I was thoroughly put off by the rotting smell long before I turned 18. Gross.

Vitalogy · 03/02/2019 18:15

When the fashion/trend is over, then what.

SpamChaudFroid · 03/02/2019 18:20

There's always this option in that eventuality Vitalogy.

raindropsonkittens · 03/02/2019 18:20

They constantly smell like cheese even if cleaned daily too

thenightsky · 03/02/2019 18:26

There's cheek ones??? How the hell would you eat soup or drink anything? Shock

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 03/02/2019 18:29

They make me feel a bit sick because all I can think about is how smelly they must be 🤢

Biancadelriosback · 03/02/2019 18:31

I had one for a year or so. Got to 1cm. I've let it close now and the hole is only slightly bigger than my other piercings now. If you do it right, they don't scar too much

Omgineedanamechange · 03/02/2019 18:32

Jesus fucking Christ those cheek ones! What the hell must it look like when they’re eating. 🤢

Vitalogy · 03/02/2019 18:34

.

MashedSpud · 03/02/2019 18:34

Imagine a spider climbing into your mouth during the night through your cheek hole....shudder.

EdWinchester · 03/02/2019 18:34

Ew. I really hate those stretched ear lobes.

I met someone that had to have surgery to correct them once he'd decided to grow up ditch them. His lobes are mangled.

CallMeRachel · 03/02/2019 18:34

Geez I can't be the only one who thought this was a post about male Flesh Lights? Blush

Yes the ear things are grotesque, personally I can't see any attractiveness in them but each to there own.

hotwing · 03/02/2019 18:35

The cheek ones are the ultimate in 'look at me, aren't I so individual, look at me'

newnameforthis7 · 03/02/2019 18:37

They look awful without the 'plug' in.

They stink too! 🤮🤮🤮

newnameforthis7 · 03/02/2019 18:38

The hole-in-cheek ones are a special kind of 🤮🤮🤮

agirlhasnonameX · 03/02/2019 18:39

I've got quite a few piercings but I've always hated flesh tunnels (I call them that too), they weird me out.
But those cheek ones! I don't understand how people eat without their food falling out

Thisisthelaststraw · 03/02/2019 18:39

Flesh light or flash light?

Do I really want to google?

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2019 18:40

I watched an OP to put the droopy holey earlobes back together. Not nice. Involved cutting bits off with scissors and trying to fashion an earlobe from the remains.

hotwing · 03/02/2019 18:40

@Thisisthelaststraw Neither

wictional · 03/02/2019 18:44

Well, I didn't expect to have a mental image of blinged out cat arseholes today, but that's the joy of mumsnet for you
