3 words - slow cooker liners.

Can make all kinds of yum but without having to scrub pots after!

Confusedbeetle · 31/01/2019 12:02

Of course it does, tons of one pan recipes, and tray bakes ( like chicken, chorizo, baby potatoes, med vegetables , tomatoes, few spices, bang it in the oven. Have a look on BBC Good food recipes for ideas

popcornwizard · 31/01/2019 12:04

Slow cooker LINER???? google is my friend ....

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2019 12:05

Tray bakes are your friend. There’s a delicious Nigella one with chicken and loads of peas.. hang on..

brokenhead · 31/01/2019 12:07

Ooh chicken and peas sounds great

A slow cooker liner!!

I have a terrible admission 🙄🙄 I leave the slow cooker outside where I can't see it when I've made a fucking huge mess in it with things like stew
Have only used the bloody thing 4 times

It's not my favorite if I am honest because I don't love stew ..

So trays could be more like it

I also like fishes

Slow cooker liner???? - could this be a life changer

Also electric steamers are good as just quick rinse under the tap once veggies are done

Waveysnail · 31/01/2019 12:08

Baked broccoli and cod - all on one oven tray.

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2019 12:11

chicken and peas this is so good. I put some little potatoes in too because I am feeding carbohydrate junkies. Any leftovers make amazing soup.

CottonSock · 31/01/2019 12:13

Risotto is one pan, any tray bake.

Xiaoxiong · 31/01/2019 12:16

Look on Pinterest for "one pot meals" or "sheet pan supper" or "savoury traybake". Some of my favourites:
Sheet pan chicken tikka and potatoes
Nigella's Spanish chicken and chorizo
Smoked haddock and corn chowder
Baked salmon, asparagus and sweet potatoes all on the same tray

My ideal washing up is one knife, one cutting board and one pot or oven tray!!!!

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2019 12:16

Worth buying a good heavy roasting tray just for tray bakes. I do them all the time. It’s just a matter of getting the timing right - vegetables take longer to roast than you think. Another good one is a tray of Mediterranean type vegetables, with lots of herbs and wine with lamb chops on top for the last 20minutes or so.

MorningsEleven · 31/01/2019 12:17

I read that as "recipes with a little washing up liquid" 😊. Maybe a trip to the psychiatrist optician is in order.

TinyTwat · 31/01/2019 12:19

I'm making this for dinner tonight, one pot cajun chicken and sausage pasta It's bloody delicious and only one pan to wash up

isseywithcats · 31/01/2019 12:22

lasagne,or Moussaka one dish cooking and usually enough left over to freeze portions so next cook no washing up, serve with garlic bread or salad

Canuckduck · 31/01/2019 12:22

With tray bakes how do you ensure everything is cooked at the same time? Despite following recipes by potato’s always take forever and then the meat is dry.

HaggisMuncher · 31/01/2019 12:23

Get the roasting tin cookbook. Bing it all in a tray in the oven kind of book and its delish!

HariboLecter · 31/01/2019 12:24

This is lovely and you can add whatever you like to it really

Search one pot recipes on pinterest.
There loads of casseroles, slow cooks, stews, tray bakes, risottos and paellas that are all one pots.

Smoked salmon with tagliatelle. A bit plain but me and dp love it.

Boil tagliatelle in saucepan. Melt butter in a frying pan, add chopped up smoked salmon. (No need for chopping board, I use the foil thing that comes in the pack)

Fry a little, add double cream (I put in around 150-200ml I think). Leave on hob til it bubbles slightly.

Bit of pepper and tarragon (optional, I’ve had it without).

When tagliatelle is done, drain and mix it in with the salmon.

Such a quick tea, and not much to wash.

Get The Roasting Tin by Rukmini Iyer. Loads of great recipes

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2019 12:47

Boringlyboring- I do that one and chuck in a bag of spinach or some frozen peas as well. Or a lot of rocket.

BertrandRussell · 31/01/2019 12:48

Also, you can add the salmon and the cream directly to the cooked pasta -thus saving another pan.

Beebee8 · 31/01/2019 12:52

issey you're having a laugh with moussaka right?

PeoplesFrontOfJudith · 31/01/2019 12:55

Stir fry with ready to wok noodles.
Only a chopping board, wok, and a bowl to wash up

possumgoddess · 31/01/2019 13:18

Go to takeaway - buy food - eat from container - no washing up at all.
