I used to like him many years ago, but he's just ridiculous these days. I'm not even sure he believes what he says, just like whipping up people

OP posts:
BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 14:49

“he is biased“
Do you mean that he has opinions?

derxa · 30/01/2019 14:53

Well, the BBC Trust ruled that she misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn following an interview she did with him......... Did that result in her hiring a bodyguard?

Scandaloso · 30/01/2019 14:55

I don't listen to LBC but I follow him on Twitter and he speaks an inordinate amount of sense.

Scandaloso · 30/01/2019 14:56

Like Katie Hopkins and Owen Jones he is a middle-class Jeremy Kyle

Isn't Jeremy Kyle the middle class Jeremy Kyle?

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 14:59

O’Brian on Digby Jones

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 15:03

“Well, the BBC Trust ruled that she misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn following an interview she did with him......... Did that result in her hiring a bodyguard?”

You asked for an example of Kunnesberg’s right wing bias. I gave you one.
Still waiting for an example of O’Brian’s “crap”.

IlluminatiParty · 30/01/2019 15:06

I used to absolutely love his show, he really demolished some arsehole public figures, but lately he just sounds bored and tired and as if he is slating/goading people for the sport of it not to seek some kind of truth.

derxa · 30/01/2019 15:07

Well, the BBC Trust ruled that she misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn following an interview she did with him.. And that's it? Now she's subjected to constant trolling and her personal safety is jeopardised.

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 15:10

“Well, the BBC Trust ruled that she misrepresented Jeremy Corbyn following an interview she did with him.. And that's it?”
Of course she should not be trolled or threatened. Of course she shouldn’t. But you asked for an example of bias and I gave you one. There are plenty more. Where are the examples of O’Brian’s “crap”?

cupofteaandcake · 30/01/2019 15:10

I listen to LBC all the time, well except for JO'B, I turn it off when he comes on. He loves the sound of his own voice, I've heard him be very very rude and frankly childish to callers who don't agree with his position. He seems unable to have a proper conversation. Imagine living with him, droning on and on all time, urgh!

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 15:17

This is a tweet from Kunessberg last night- “Corbyn says now he WILL go and meet May for talks now - u -turns agogo”. It was not a U turn- it was what Corbyn said he would do if no deal was taken off the table.

PseudoBadger · 30/01/2019 15:50

Imagine living with him, droning on and on all time, urgh!

Well his wife wrote the MN cookbook, so maybe she's on here?

BorisBogtrotter · 30/01/2019 15:57

"Now she's subjected to constant trolling and her personal safety is jeopardised."

Not condoning this at all.

However many public figures of a range of political persuasions are in the same boat, please do not paint it like its a left wing thing.

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 15:58

Extaroedinarily mature analysis of a political commentator! Grin

BorisBogtrotter · 30/01/2019 16:02

It does appear that those who back brexit don't like JOB but are unable to give examples.

Bluelady · 30/01/2019 16:03

Thanks @BertrandRussell. Pure gold.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 30/01/2019 16:06

He does drone on and on about his favourite subject which is JOB himself.

He has this annoying little laugh, when he thinks he has said something particularly witty, it’s as if he can’t help but admire his own joke.

He’s also very rude to callers, when he thinks the caller’s not quite at not at his intellectual level, he gets spectacularly condescending.

So while I agree with his views on Brexit I cannot bear to listen to him.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 30/01/2019 16:07

it does appear that those who back brexit don't like JOB but are unable to give examples

At least they are consistent in one respect.

If people don't like JoB I imagine they must think even less of Nick Ferrari who is also on LBC.

PseudoBadger · 30/01/2019 16:10

Hmmm. Love JoB, don't like Nick. Do like Sheilagh, ambivalent about Iain. And Eddie Mair, I have been a fan of for ever.

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2019 16:12

“He does drone on and on about his favourite subject which is JOB himself.”

Does he? On what programme? I have heard him being interviewed a couple of times- but I sort of expected him to talk about himself then.....

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 30/01/2019 16:16

How many programmes does he have these days?

The 10:00 LBC slot is the one I used to listen to.

He might have moved.

derxa · 30/01/2019 16:17

However many public figures of a range of political persuasions are in the same boat, please do not paint it like its a left wing thing. I'm not.

derxa · 30/01/2019 16:18

So while I agree with his views on Brexit I cannot bear to listen to him. Yup

Collidascope · 30/01/2019 16:31

m.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=wZEQkW77im0

This is why I'm not keen. Someone has a different opinion so it's fine to be rude and persistently interrupt.

BorisBogtrotter · 30/01/2019 16:44

Except that he wasn't really interrupting her because she had a different opinion. She stuck to one point rigidly and refused to acknowledge any of the points of the other side.

Also, this is the common way in which these sort of things happen on the radio, or in actual discussion, people don't just get to give long monolouges unchallenged.

Nigel Farage cuts people off entirely, so does Nick Ferarri.

So either you object to them all doing it, or just JOB, if its the latter its because he says stuff that you don't want to hear.
