About bridesmaid dresses (BTW I know I am not)

Ok so I may have been a bit clickbaity but I am getting so frustrated.

3 adult bridesmaids, we are paying for the dresses budget of £80 each. One size 8 petite, 2 size 16/18s.

All I want is sage green dresses with sleeves (don't mind if they are 1/2 full length or 3/4), all bridesmaids happy with the style. I am basically totally flexible on length and on embellishments...

I can't find anything anywhere with sleeves. They don't exist! I am getting married in October I don't want freezing cold blue bridesmaids! Plus the two bigger girls are conscious of their arms.

Also I don't know if I can trust janky sites like jjs house or bliss extra. I have already checked johnlewis, coast, phase eight, Dorothy Perkins, monsoon etc.

Please help me! Where did you get your bridesmaid dresses from?

AIBU in thinking that there should be somewhere I can get these dresses from or am I being picky and unreasonable?

I have bought from JJs house and they were perfect,my friend had to sen one of her bridesmaids back for a different size. The only thing with JJs house is you need to get your girls to try on the MINUTE they arrive and if they don’t fit them send them back the very next day, they only let us do returns if it was within 7 days of getting them.

Try Lindy Bop, they have some lovely dresses with sleeves and not too pricey.

GinghamStyle · 30/01/2019 21:18

Just to give you a word of warning about buying high street dresses with sleeves. I bought a beautiful dress from Chi Chi London, perfect in every way - except that the sleeves just laughed at me! I loved the dress so had a seamstress chop them off for me. I’m an 8/10 but my upper arms do make shopping tricky sometimes.

WineAndTiramisu · 30/01/2019 21:21

Looking at the dress you love from the OP, they have size 18 and only £35 odd quid, I'd buy three and that leaves quite a lot for alterations, the size 16-18 bridesmaids will be easy, but you'll need a complete remake for the size 8i would think, but should still come in under budget overall?

Buy a plain sleeveless dress and put a lace shrug over like this from Etsy?

Sorry, I’ve just seen the ones you like from Dorothy Perkins....I’d buy 3 size 18’s for the cheap price of £36 and get a local seamstress to alter them to fit with your extra budget.

I had sage green dresses. They were from Dessy. You could also check out JJs House but they come up small.

Sorry haven't read the full thread but wanted to suggest this ASOS dress before I nod off. Apologies if it's already been suggested!

I had sage green BM dresses too. I got mine from the same (local, independent) shop I got my dress from. They just had a book that you chose the basic style and color, then they measured up and Shazam, dresses arrived.

From memory they were maybe slightly
More expensive, like say £100 but they were gorgeous.

Maybe you could see if there is a local bridal shop to go in and see if they have/know of anything??

PeonyTruffle · 31/01/2019 03:43

I was going to suggest what a OP suggested...buy the one you love and have them professionally tailored to fit. I really liked that dress too btw! Good luck.

kateandme · 31/01/2019 04:14

so many people trying to help her find her dress.its so nice.

Iseverynametaken · 31/01/2019 04:22

Bare in mind I found that dress on Aus ASOS Op and we generally tend to pay a bit more, they may also offer it cheaper on UK ASOS. Goodluck with your search!

I got married last Saturday and three of my bridesmaids wore sleeveless dresses in 3 degree weather (their choice BTW). It was fine. They just wore stoles too.

Becles · 31/01/2019 08:35

David's Bridal. American mega bridalwear chain with hundreds of styles that you can have in all the colours they carry.

Even better they now have UK stores - we used it when my American cousin got married and I needed a colour match with the other bridesmaids

Ax Paris and ASOS do some lovely dresses

Mumoftwoish · 31/01/2019 09:40

I went to a wedding 2yrs ago sage and touches of lilac. Looked amazing real classy I'd put pics but it would be outing on friends but there were no sleeves. They were from asos I asked at the time maybe a dainty cardigan or shrug but will put you over the budget for sure.
