Everyone here (nearly) says it will be bad.
Let's hear some positives about our coming freedom from the EU!

All together now:

'Rule Brittannia!
Brittannia rules a relatively small section of the waves which don't have the fish stocks to fulfil demand
Britons never never never shall be slaves apart from zero hours contracts, banned in several EU Member States'

Huzzah! [waves very small flag]

ChariotsofFish · 28/01/2019 14:16

The forthcoming instability, food shortages and civil disruption are going to be excellent stress testing for future disruption caused by climate change. The army, having practiced the operation of martial law, will be much better placed to deal with climate related internal conflict in the future.

ilovesooty · 28/01/2019 14:19

I have plenty to say to someone like the OP who didn't bother to vote because they were complacent. Every one of them would get me banned.

bellinisurge · 28/01/2019 14:19

@Crunchymum , Prepper here who would rather not be "in my element ". I would prefer to have a little marginal hobby that keeps me happy and doesn't bother anyone.

EverlyNow · 28/01/2019 14:20

I made £500 last week by trading currency, so that was a bit of fun. Can’t see any other positives Confused

longwayoff · 28/01/2019 14:25

Richard Knocker denies authorship of the very odd list above.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/01/2019 14:26

I think fish might be cheaper, which will perhaps resurrect the prospect of being able to take part in Until of course they all go bust due to losing friction free access to the european market.

PlumCakeChica · 28/01/2019 14:26

Well the Netherlands are doing quite well with brexit, what with all those companies and jobs moving over there.....oh sorry did you mean for the uk??

Nothing. Nada. Niets. Rien. Nichts. Get the idea.

badlydrawnperson · 28/01/2019 14:28

You won't hear anything positive about Brexit on here OP.

mobyduck · 28/01/2019 14:28

No positives. Brexit is bloody irresponsible and will cause problems and hardship for millions. You should be ashamed

You are suggesting I should be ashamed? Of what? The UK was given a referendum, exercised its democracy, and voted to leave the EU.
Should I be ashamed of democracy? Of us being given a referendum- I didn't suggest it?
I'm merely asking for some positives, as the news seems to be full of negatives.

badlydrawnperson · 28/01/2019 14:29

MN is a cosy club for remainers only and they only want to sit in their own echo chamber.

SaucyJack · 28/01/2019 14:32

Not true at all BadlyDrawnPerson.

Some of us would love to know what the positives are going to be.

Mistigri · 28/01/2019 14:33

You'll be able to buy mutton cheaply :)

... but only once, because after the farmers have slaughtered all their sheep there won't be a British lamb industry left.

Cobblersandhogwash · 28/01/2019 14:35

@mobyduck can't you think of any positives then?

I'd love to hear some too.

Can't think of any thigh apart from a no deal Brexit hopefully will shut the the Brexitters up for a very long time. Except they'll be blaming everyone else but themselves as usual........

StoorieHoose · 28/01/2019 14:36

so OP you didnt care enough to vote but now you want to other people to find you positives?

mobyduck · 28/01/2019 14:36

*Not true at all BadlyDrawnPerson.

Excellent, SauceyJack, we just want a few of the main benefits, not a comprehensive list of all of them.

OftenHangry · 28/01/2019 14:36

Increased opportunities in highly skilled jobs in the UK where people have left due to Brexit (Medical professions / scientists / engineers / teaching).

Well, this reminded me of a wonderful tweet...

Schools will lose students if families leave the UK. So more teacher contact time (but school funding hit by fewer students on-roll).

They will also lose teachers...

Maybe, just maybe, we might see a change in politics. From recognising the diversity of voters wishes to the frustrating state of both main parties

Awww. Got 2 words for you. Stupid electorate.

Rodenhide · 28/01/2019 14:38

OP, doesn't it worry you that you have to ask an internet forum of strangers why you voted the way you did?

mobyduck · 28/01/2019 14:39

so OP you didnt care enough to vote but now you want to other people to find you positives?
It was not that I didn't care, I thought it was unnecessary.

BadlyDrawnPerson Brexit day is so close now you'll be able to come back reallllly soon and prove you were right!

So go on, humour us with what's going to be good and then you'll have the pleasure of saying 'I told you so'

This is why I don't understand why there are so many whinging Leavers. You're getting everything you voted for, no deal and all (most likely). So why so grumpy?

Some people are worrying. What a nice position to be in to be able to put their minds at rest.

OftenHangry · 28/01/2019 14:40

Actually, I got a positive.

Since people won't be able to afford holidays abroad, camping sites across UK will experience great boom. Maybe, just maybe even Blackpool will.
🙄

Freud2 · 28/01/2019 14:41

Democracy. Not paying huge sums to the EU. Taking control of our laws, borders. Not having to be part of a bloated unelected establishment which incidentally has never passed an audit in over 20 years. I would not trust them with our money.

bellinisurge · 28/01/2019 14:43

We already had democracy.
PS - you can't eat democracy. Not even with rhubarb.

FaFoutis · 28/01/2019 14:45

The vote made it clear that our education system is not teaching people about politics or critical thinking, and that the media have too much power. So in an ideal world this should give impetus to improving education and doing something about the horrible right-wing press.

Obviously this won't happen though.

mobyduck · 28/01/2019 14:46

Taking control of our laws, borders.
Freud2:
Any particular law giving you difficulties?
Are our borders going to be better policed in the future?
Are our ELECTED establishment doing a good job at the moment?
