Leaving Neverland, being shown at the Sundance film festival and in the spring on Channel 4....I love his music and have believed he was vilified by the racist media, and by greedy individuals and families after his money; but am really not so sure of his innocence any more. I guess that's my aibu- that we have to listen to his accusers don't we? I was sexually abused as a ternager, and not believed. It was a profoundly damaging experience.

PlantsArePeopleToo I was raped when I was younger by a family friend. My sister also grew up around this family friend but he never touched her. No idea why he chose me but there you go.

I agree completely! A similar thing happened to me when I was a girl. I was sexually abused by my brother on and off between the ages of 4 and 12 yrs. He left my sister alone though, which is why both my parents and my sister did not believe me when I told them. I remember telling them when I was about 14 or 15 because he expressed a keen interest in my cousin. I told my cousins mother and the whole thing blew up in my face. I was accused of troublemaking and also because I have MH issues they accused me of making it up. They have since apologized to me (reluctantly and just a little) but I will never forgive them for that. Just because you have MH issues doesn't magic exclude you from abuse. Not to mention, these asshole abusers don't just abuse anyone. They pick their targets for the vulnerability and often that is people with MH issues that are the most vulnerable.

The poster upthread who mentioned the kid being a liar and committing suicide-Shame on you! Just because you don't win a court case, doesn't mean that you were never victimized. The court of law is not infallible! Not to mention, if he was a liar, it doesn't mean he didn't lie about being abused. Liars can me victims too. Anyone, no matter how virtuous or not can be abused

joystir59 · 27/01/2019 21:28

Also, regarding the court case, MJ could afford the best defence team.

Never liked the guy or his music gave me the willies as a child. Never liked Harris either thought he was a weird one and saville gave me the creeps too.

I tend to trust my dislike of celebs it seems to be right. I’ve got a few predictions for future ones. A few people from my year group felt the same about Harris and we all have a collective told you so moment.

mikado1 · 27/01/2019 22:03

Corey Feldman has described his main abuser, loosely, I think he will say it one day. I didn't get the impression it was MJ. I think Robert Kardashian was OJ's lawyer, so he couldn't have been MJ's, he'd have been dead by then I think.

Patroclus · 27/01/2019 22:06

He was guilty. Remember watching a documentary after he died and it made that prettty clear.

MutantDisco · 27/01/2019 22:12

DH was DJing in 2008ish, playing some Jackson 5, and got berated by two women for playing 'paedo music'.

I suspect there will be huge fallout for many people as a result of this. How do we justify listening to one of the biggest stars the world has ever produced in light of this evidence?

southeastdweller · 27/01/2019 22:14

What evidence?

MutantDisco · 27/01/2019 22:14

The documentary.

Patroclus · 27/01/2019 22:19

As a child, i got the absolute creeps off him, like I have never felt from anybody else.

MutantDisco · 27/01/2019 22:19

Regarding his music.

Just because pop/RnB/soul/disco isn't your thing (quite a broad swath of music to rule out of your collection, but that's for another thread) doesn't change the fact that much of his music is made by some of the best composers and producers of his generation. 'I don't like his music anyway' doesn't mean that it's objectively bad.

I think the fact that the music has survived the allegations is testament to its enduring quality. I think the latest controversy might put paid to that, though.

DangerMouse17 · 27/01/2019 22:19

Corey Feldman was not abused by MJ. Corey only had good things to say about him. I believe it's CS, based on interviews he has given.

MargotLovedTom1 · 27/01/2019 22:28

Minister I wasn't suggesting he could be 'fixed'. My previous post actually worded it in terms of dealing with his dysfunctional childhood. We'll have to agree to differ.

shiveringtimber · 27/01/2019 22:29

Not to excuse his behaviour; nothing justifies it but he was badly abused by his father as a child. A cautionary tale?

Xmastummyhasgonebig · 27/01/2019 22:29

Yes Corey was by C S

Xmastummyhasgonebig · 27/01/2019 22:30

Was he sexually abuses by his dad?

joystir59 · 27/01/2019 22:32

Just to remind us of how good he was. Aged 11, I believe:

CS?? Would they not be a similar age? Or have I the wrong CS. He always seems so nice.

DangerMouse17 · 27/01/2019 22:52

He's about 6 years older...

Newsername · 27/01/2019 23:07

CS (drug shamed actor?) was abused by MJ? Fgs.

I am going to wait this one out before I make any comment. I still feel terrible for the men involved but their dubious past is still not letting me wholly believe. I remember how everyone was baying for blood with Cliff Richards and that turned out to be wrong too.

AhhhHereItGoes · 27/01/2019 23:25

But CS was close to MJs age wasn't he? About 5 years difference ?

BejamNostalgia · 27/01/2019 23:29

None of the boys admitted lying or killing themselves. That's from a hoax story.

FromEden · 28/01/2019 00:32

CS (drug shamed actor?) was abused by MJ? Fgs

No, CS is the one who abused Corey Haim on the set of a movie. Allegedly. I think that's who Corey feldman was talking about. nothing to do with MJ.

FromEden · 28/01/2019 00:34

And CS most definitely does not seem nice. I think you might be thinking of the wrong person mikado1

Sarahandduck18 · 28/01/2019 01:07

So if the argument for MJ is that he was a child himself emotionally and wanted to play with other children in an innocent way why was it only ever boy children who were in his bed/ seen holding hands/cuddling/ made accusations.

If it was innocent surely there would have been girl children about?

The only difference is in their genitalia which does lead to a suspicion of a sexual motive for these ‘friendship’ preferences.

Princess1066 · 28/01/2019 01:14

Can anyone give an idea of who CS is please?
