To think Tina Malone deserves no sympathy

She's in trouble legally for allegedly sharing photos of one of James Bulgar's killers. She is getting lots of support online but I think people are letting their hatred of the crime cloud their judgement. Surely exploiting a tragedy to get attention is not something that should be applauded! This wasn't done with any intention of "helping" James's family, was it?

So you would have a problem with him handing change to you at a garage / shop?

Robert Thompson is gay I believe and has a partner who does know his real identity. I would think when they set up home with someone they would have to tell them, Venables on the other hand has dated numerous single mums who didn’t know of his identity until the photo of him was being circulated! I read a lot on this last year when Venables rated his vile head again, I’m not obsessed haha

I think we need to be realistic. We have no idea about people's pasts and there's a pretty good chance that at some point your path will unknowingly cross with someone who has done something awful in their life

I have no idea if this is true or not but if it is, imagine the horrendous guilt he must feel now. Imagine if you had murdered a child in a horrific way and now years later you have a child of your own. That must be torture in its own way.

To me part of being rehabilitated means you have accepted responsibility for what you did. Living with the knowledge that you did those things to a small child must be a massive burden to live with. One he deserves, but a tough one.

For that reason I do have some sympathy with a man living every day with the consequences of his actions when he was 10. Not much, not enough to want to be his friend or supporter, but a little bit of sympathy. His life must be very hard.

My little bit of feeling for this man obviously does not take away from my huge sympathy for James and all those who knew and love him.

It is realistic that there are people out there who have done awful things. A long time ago when I was a teenager, a man who worked for someone my dad knew and worked at the same place with on occasion, a man my dad thought nothing of and leant his van to on occasions, who I would open the door to to give the keys thinking nothing of it with my little brother in the house.... was later outed as a paedophile who had abused his children and a friend of his children. My dad along every other contractor refused to work alongside him once they found out about it, my dad still to this day feels sick that this man came to our front door and I would be there to answer! Me and a friend one evening went and knocked on all of his neighbors doors and told them who he was and what he had done, none of them had a clue and most had children in their homes.

Honestly anything like this makes my blood boil that people can be put in these positions and the ones who are capable of the worst things imaginable are protected!!!

I think it's fair to say only a minority of people belive these sub humans deserve a second chance, although venables is on his 9th life, people were and still are very angry, surley the crime warrented time in a adult prison, the bottom line is people have been sharing venables pics for years, it won't stop, people think they are helping, they may have been of him, maybe not, it's a dangerous thing to do putting pics up, I done this to someone but I knew it was them as they were a family member, never would I do it if I wasn't 100% it was them which nobody can be, on one side you have them being protected which annoys people, but on the other side how can they not protect them.

samcrow he's on life license so he's monitored closely and will be for life. They both are which is why Venebles keeps getting caught. It's not a matter of no one knowing who they are. They'll have probation workers and social workers who know who they are. Likely the newspapers know EXACTLY who and where they are - they just can't report it.

Just because RT hasn't reoffended he shouldn't be cast as merely assisting. You could argue that he was the instigator (which I believe was alluded to in previous reporting) and is calculated enough to play at being a model citizen. He's probably thanking his lucky stars that JV keeps messing up as everyone is assuming he's the better of the two.

I am no psychologist but I read something a couple of years ago by a psychologist who suggested that this might be the case. That RT has managed to be “clever” enough to avoid doing anything to be detained again because it’s been easier for him to draw a line under what he did and move on, but JV may be racked with guilt and struggling to move on. Who knows though. I wouldn’t pretend to.

As for JV I understand that he’d actually breached his licence before the crimes he was subsequently imprisoned for but it wasn’t made public at the time, so who would know whether RT had reoffended again.

Jon Venables right to anonymity should have been revoked the first time he went back to prison for child pornagraphy offences simply because he should have been sent back to prison for the rest of his life, he hasn't been rehabilitated obviously, on the other hand the child who was deemed the ring leader from a broken home, Robert Thompson doesn't appear to have reoffended.

After I read this about her post, I found that image elsewhere on the Internet, I just Googled. So it's not just her who shared it. It's sideways on, so you could argue he'd still be hard to identify. I think it's naive to think they will stay anonymous forever. Mary Bell didn't, despite her new identity:& that was before social media & the book etc.

Newest documentary says Venables was the ringleader as on the cc TV footage, he's leading, walking slightly ahead. Added to that, his statement said I killed James (not 'we' killed James).

People that murder young children do not deserve human rights. Surely if you can murder aged 10 then what the fuck can you do when you are older?
I appreciate they had bad up bringings but sometimes, just like a dog who's been kicked all its life, there is no rehabilitation.
It's like a child who pulls legs of a spider or who steals sweets, they murdered a young child, they did horrendous things to him, I'm pretty sure some of it sexual. They do not deserve our pity or sympathy.
